50% Effaced 1 cm Dilated
I am only 34 weeks and 2 weeks ago I was nothing. Yesterday the DR. checked me and said I was 50% effaced and 1 cm Dilated. I know some people can go weeks like this, but how many weeks. Since I am still pretty early could I possibly have her at 38-39 weeks. Also 2 weeks ago I started taking Evening Primrose Oil and RLT Tablets.

not being a doc, midwife or anything i couldn't tell you for how many weeks... i have never had a exam of my cervix until i was in labour, 40weeks in the hospital... (TMI personally i tried, but it always just confused me! ;) )
i did for #2 look into the whole EPO tablets and found conflicting advice, from shoving it up near the cervix and it helping to those who take it orally and advice saying the use of EPO pro-longed labour etc.. ( sorry for no links! i use google alot, the info is out there somewhere..) My apologies if my reply isn't very helpful.
As the weeks get closer to due date, i worry bout the whole will i go into labour or be induced... I have been lucky to go into natural labour twice. Wishing you the same luck & labour vibes! :)

I was 40weeks, 1cm dilated and 75% effaced for almost 2 weeks before DD decided it was action time!
Hope you arent waiting to long.
Good luck, not long to go either way :)

I can't answer your questions, but I would advise that you stop the RLT and EPO for now just in case it does help send you into labour. 34wks is a bit too early for bubs to be born! Maybe start again in 3-4wks....I think 'full term' is considered after 36/7wks??
Good luck :D

i was fully effaced and 3cm dialted at an ob appt last time - ds ws born 4 days later (at 39 wks)... but i think it can go on like this for ages also... (my ob could also feel his head and the membranes were hanging down)...
i would also lay off epo for now... you are still a little early... 37 wks is full term, ramp it up after that... not that i think the epo or rlt will bring it all on but imo better to wait a bit now

Yeah, you guys are right. i stopped using the EPO and will probably not start using it again until 37-38 weeks. Have not decided wether or not to continue the RLT tablets. Still debating. Thursday I will find out if I am any more effaced or dilated.

The RLT is to help tone the muscles used in labour, although I'd probably stop until 36 wks JIC. I was wondering though why you are getting internals done? Is there a reason for this cos unless there's a good medical reason I can't understand why a doctor would need to be "checking" anything internal. I've never had an internal until I was in labour as there isn't a need for it.

Well I am over in the U.S. and it is a regular thing once you hit your third trimester to be checked at your Dr. appt. They do it just so they can be safe and know if you might go into preterm labour or if they should expect something.
