Recs for a good point & shoot

I dropped my basic camera today, on the lense while it was out, so thats the end of that.

I'm eventually wanting to get a DSLR early next year, but until then i need another basic camera as i take photos every day.

I prefer canon, any recs?

if you just want a basic good camera I would recomend a canon ixus 90 or 85 I have the 85 same features as 90 but has smaller LCD screen as it has a optical viewer my friend has the 90 theno veiwer, also the way you access the features is probably easier with the 90 :)

HTH i am so happy with mine I have always had big bulky panasonic or fuji ones and this one beats them hands downs ecept for zoom flash but ah well it was cheap

We've got a little casio. For a cheapie P&S it's awesome!

Depends how much you want to spend. Before I got my DSLR I had a powershot S3 and that was pretty good.
