does bubs have quiet days?

Hi all
This is my 3rd pregnancy so you would think I would know. But it seems like I have been worried right through this pregnancy and I just cant help it. Had some light bleeding right at the beginning but eveything has been going really well.
I just find that the past 2 days bubs has been quiet, there are definate movements but it just seems not as much as a few days ago?.
This may sound pathetic but im a bit of a mess lately because of all the hormones and I cant stop thinking about it?.
Do you think this is normal?

My bub has quiet days....overall she is really busy & active but occasionally there will be a day where i look back & thing 'gee, not much happening today'.... and then I invariably worry & stress until things get back to normal.

I had two or three days in a row a couple of weeks back which were quiet... there was some movement, other wise I would have been straight up to hosp.. just not as much as usual. And then it was all back to normal.

Sometimes it's just that things are really busy - when I had my baby shower we had family from all over, it was a crazy hectic day & by the end of it I had barely registered anything. The next day she made up for it though.

So yes, it is normal.

Having said that.... if it continues to be less, or if you don't feel bub move for hours on end, or if it's a LOT less than usual... it never hurts to go up to hosp & get it checked out :)

I agree with Jasp, very normal :hug:.

My bub is super-active, but on Tuesday she hardly moved and I was so worried (it's my third too and I felt like I should know by now too LOL! Us mums are born worriers for our children ;)). She started going back to her normal self slowly on Wednesday and now I'm being kicked around non-stop again.

I wonder if they just change positions sometimes and we don't feel them as well? I'm sure they go through growth-spurts in there too which probably makes them more sleepy at times.

thanks ladies you have made me feel much better, this morning i woke up to lots of movements and they havent stopped :).

totally with you on that!!

I too have had a week of non stop kicking, and moving...and now....nothing. for a good 2 days i have felt the smallest movement, but then nothing at all.
It really had me worried, as to why he/she was so full of beans one week, and then so quiet the next!

Ive just learnt not to stress...lol, im the biggest worry wart, and ive finally got myself to start 'relaxing' and stress less :)

I'm really bad with worrying too!
Bub is ALWAYS moving and rolling and kicking and as i just found out hiccupping a heap. And occasionally he'll go quiet for a couple of days with very faint kicks which barely happen. And thats when i start quietly going into meltdown mode until he starts moving again like he normally does. Lol.

Isn't it amazing how much you can love someone who isn't even born yet. I've never worried about anything as much as i have this baby. Ever.

ive only really started feeling my baby move in the last probably week and a half-2 weeks. Its such an amazing feeling. i feel her all teh time (only occasionally on the outside) but when i dont feel her for half a day to a day, i worry a little, but i guess good mothers worry :P
sophierose, i am with you there, it blows me away how much i love this little angel already, and i havent even laid eyes on her. i know when she's born i will miss having her in my belly, its such a special feeling.

Some of the best advice I read was that babies are like us - sometimes you feel energetic and feel like kicking up your heels and sometimes you just want to laze around. I often find that if bub has a quietish day she makes up for it the next.

Also, the position has a lot to do with it. In mid-pregnancy when there is still plenty of room to turn around and upside down and every which way, bubs may be kicking and punching more towards the back of your uterus which you won't necessarily feel.
