Pre-term labour??
Hi
I'm 34 weeks with my 3rd baby. My other two were born early due to pre eclampsia by c.s, so I never experienced labour pains with them.
With this pregnancy, I get lower abdominal pain, discharge, and loose and frequent bowel movements (sorry tmi). I also get terrible back pain.
The baby isn't engaged, but I wondered if these signs are those of pre term labour? I also have +2 blood in my urine, but the doctors don't seem concerned as I have been checked that I don't have an urinary infection.
Thanks for any info, gwenxx

It may well be pre-term labour or just a case of gastro.
When I went into pre-term labour, the abdo pain I got was like a really bad period pain, but it also felt like a string between breast bone and pelvis was being pulled with each contraction doubling me over, these pains came at 2 hr regular intervals. I didn't have any diarhoea or discharge.
I suggest if you are concerned call the hospital and go in to get checked out.

Hi WelshGirl
The symptoms you describe could be caused by many things including gastro, food poisoning, pre labour, physical exercise, an allergic reaction. The lower abdominal pain could be caused by Braxton Hicks contractions. It is very common to have an increase in your discharge at around 34 weeks. + blood in your urine is quite common and not significant on its own. If you are concerned then perhaps you should go and see your midwife.

Thanks for your replies!
I think the discomfort is BH as my stomach goes quite hard. Can't wait now!
I'm on medication for high BP with this pregnancy too, for pre eclampsia, so not long to go now. Hope I get to 36 weeks at least, gwen

Good luck honey! I'm around the same time as you and i've been getting all of those symptoms too. But i don't have pre-eclampsia, but my bub is pretty big (measuring in a full term size). Hopefully neither of us go too early!
