Awareness of hands/arms - but shaking/shuddering

I've noticed during the last few days that my little boy seems to have developed an awareness of his hands, but have also noticed that sometimes when he flails them about - eg prior to a feed or during a nappy change, it appears that he is shaking them (more like a shudder actually). The first time I noticed this was during a night time bum change and thought he was just shaking with cold, but have noticed it more since

Is this normal, I thought perhaps his hand/arm movements have changed a bit as he tries to control them?

Anyone experienced this?

I think its normal - my nephew does it all the time, especially when he gets excited! He's 7 1/2 months, so I think its just that he doesn't know how to wave his arms yet, KWIM?
