which one did you buy?
We're bathing our DD in a rectangular plastic container, nothing fancy. It fits on the benchtop, which a normal baby bath wouldn't. When she grows out of it we'll move to bathing her in the normal bath, I guess.
Best baby bath I've seen, but I haven't seen one in Australia like it (not that I've hunted hard or anything), was just designed to sit in the normal big bath, but it had a plug in the bottom so you could drain the water out easily.
We bought a standard plastic baby bath for our first baby but personally I wish we hadn't. Waste of money. It was awkward to use. We only used it about 3 times. Then we started to just hold bubs in the bath with me... DH used to comes and get her... or even in the shower. I don't think our 2nd and 3rd babies ever had a bath in that tub... they just came straight in the bath/shower with us from the start.
I got one from Ikea for $11. And I put on on the bassinet stand. It was good, but as Bath says you only use it for such a short time. So I personally would not spend a lot on one...
dont get the rainforest fisher price one, it is way too small! we just have a normal white cheapo one which we had for DD1 and now DD2!
We had this fabulous inflatable ducky one...got it at a regular baby shop. The duck head quacks when you push the beak and it was fabulous once DD was sitting up. Eventually he sprung a leak and his head deflated :( but yeah, was brilliant until then!
We have the Green Elmo one, about $20 from target, its brilliant as has a little plug and hose in the bottom so you can drain it into the sink (rather than lugging a full baby bath to the sink to tip out). Its a good size too
HTH
We didn't - we used the laundry tub :D And then a bath seat in the big tub when DS and DD outgrew the laundry. Washing machine makes a great change table too ;)
That's a good point about the laundry tub. I have used ours too on occassion for all our children. It's great... a comfortable height and with a counter right next to you it's a great option.... but we still preferred to save water and have a bath together.... on the whole.
I had a cheapo BigW one, but like Bath said, it's had about 3 uses...including once with Nate (well it is pink).
Reasons being, it's too much of a pain to fill (it does have a plug hole and tubing to empty so not too bad if you are near a sink), heavy if you have to carry it to empty it. If you put it on the bench then you just about need to stand on a chair to reach properly, and if it's in the bath well you might as well just bath them in the bath.
Laundry tub or our enormous kitchen sink has always worked for us.
Nate has always loved watching his sister though so he is on a towelling sling from Infa in the big bath with her.
i ended up getting one from ikea cheap but looks smart
