Spotting and breastfeeding

Hi there!

I am wondering if spotting is common during BFing? I noticed some red blood on wiping on Saturday, after my Lochia finished a few days before DD was 4 weeks old. She is now nearly 8 weeks. I wacked a pad in and havew since had a small amount of loss onto it, although nothing as heavy as my normal AF.
I didn't feel ovulation at all, so am wondering if this is just one of those fun things that can happen with BFing, or if it really is AF rearing her ugly head already?
With DS, I had my first AF a month after giving birth :(
It cannot possibly be implantation bleeding, aggravation due to DTD or anything as DH and I haven't DTD since I've given birth (mainly because we are scared that I will fall pregnant again and we don't want any more children).

How annoying for you! Spotting in the early weeks while bfing is usually associated with starting the mini-pill but you haven't mentioned this so I will guess that you are not taking it. In that case, it is possible that it is AF, but it would make you unlucky! It is earlier than most women get AF back. It well could be an isolated bit of spotting, but until you are sure I would be careful about DTD without contraception.

Thanks Manta ray. I haven't started the mini pill yet. It's been 3 days now, so I'm guessing it's AF which really annoys me. lol
Luckily I really enjoy BFing and find I don't have many problems with it, because this is one perk I miss out on it seems.

Ashton was only 3 months when I got m ine back :( and he was feeding 2-3 hourly around the clock :(

I also fell pregnant without AF coming back with Chase. Jaidan was only 5 months old and again feeding around the clock.
