Fever ... Feel so guilty

DD had a fever of 41 degrees on Saturday morning and I took her straight to the docs.

She was diagnosed with the flu and was given tamiflu.

Now the problem is, she was complaining all night but i didnt think (as i have been so exhausred from her non sleepless nights but thats no excuse) to check her temp.

What if she had a high temp all night? and i didnt give her panadol? Did I do permanent damage to her by not checking and taking her to the hospital?

I am so scared now because she is okay now but her eyes seems very droopy.

I feel soo mega guilty and the more i tell people they all said i should have taken her to the hospital.

What degree should i have taken her?

i doubt u would have done any permanent damage. Stop feeling so guilty. I think a temp is anything over 39. her eyes might be droopy coz she may be a little dehydrated, its important to keep her fuilds up.

Actually letting a fever "cook" the bugs is a good thing to do. When we dont medicate a fever, it is the body heating up to cook the bugs, which is a good thing. also if the temp gets too high, children will have a febrile convulsion which is also the bodies natural way of bringing down a temp. So dont feel bad xo

I know this is an old thread but just a question on the convulsion... is it bad if they do fit??? Oskar's temp went up to 39.4 about an hour ago, back to 38.3 about half an hour ago after some panadol and sleeping in a/c room at 27 degrees.
