relocate - 3 options ... whats the best one ..HELP ... decision need soon ..eek

OK so , DH and i are taking on a new venture .. its not risky in like going bankrupt risky BUT it may take a while(about 6 mths) to see a regualar income thats more than the one were on .

soooooo would you move in with your PIL to reduce rent? we live 45-50 mins away from work and pay $330 wk rent.

and we can move in with PIL close to work about 15- 20 mins away from work for about $100 a wk .

its a 3 bed townhouse with a cleanfreak MIL ..!!! arrggh

OR we could move into a house thats located on the business premisies for about $150 a week ..... with no yard but is close to parks etc - the hosue is basic but not bad ... its a 3bdrm but only will be using 2 as 1 is storage for someone else ...

ORRRRR live here for $330 a wk travel to work 45 mins away and come home about 6:30 -7 each night .... miss DH like crazy .. but be close to my frineds (5 mins) .. .
which is what id perfer as we only have just moved in to our dream "rental" lol ... i love it here and close to shops and frineds

What to do ?????

oh if we relocate ... we can save for a house and be in 1 in about 2 yrs ... if we stay here ... it wont be for another 5-7 yrs to get a deposit ... hmmmmmm

I dont understand option 1 there are 2 amounts and different distances from work??

I think id go for the second one - house on business premises

the 1st option is we are living 45 mins away atm in a rented house @$330 a wk .... moving into PIL house , we will pay them $100 a week and will be heaps closer ... but living in a shoe box ..
saving upfront $230 pwk ..

I'd live on site - much easier travelwise, means your DH can be 'available' more hours, but not necessarily be at the workshop, KWIM?? Plus everything you'd save on fuel.

I didn't like the 'stay at PIL' idea, because you're gonna be stressed to the max with the new business - do you really wanna add to that the stress of living with a 'neat freak MIL'??

I know its hard being away from friends tho! If youre moving closer to Bris we can do catch ups :)

If it were me I'd live on the premises you'd save the same amount even though the rent is higher as there'd be no travelling expenses and you'd have more privacy than you would at PIL's house.

I'd live on site. While you're settling into the business you will be working longer hours, if you have less income the savings will make a big difference and living with the ILs will make you crzy lol.

I'd go for the second one - house on business premises.

Yep, I would move onto the business premises to save money. I would never move in with PIL, I think it would just cause extra stress and I would feel bad maybe moving in to their home just so I could save some money.

BUT I think most importantly I would move where you would be happiest!! Anything can seem easier if you're happy :)

I agree with the others, house on the premises. Yes your mates will be 45 minutes away, but you see them less than DP has to travel to work...plus the 'getaway' might do you good, whereas transit before and after work is stressful.

I'd live on the premises. You already think living with PIL will be difficult - I can guarantee you'll find it even more difficult than you think. The travelling from where you are will put on a strain on you all. And the cost also makes a difference.

The house on the premises might not be flash, but you don't have to stay there long. Just use it as a stepping stone while you build the business and save some money.

I agree with the others. I'd move to the house on premises also. The money you'd save in fuel on a daily basis will mean you can afford to drive to catch up with your friends when you need to.

I agree with everyone else. Moving in with PIL, no matter how wonderful they are, usually ends badly.

Another vote for option 2 - house on business prems!

I have done the live with parents thing for six months - We get on extremely well, but even so, with your own family in 'their' space it is not for the fainthearted. You start resenting things you didn't even consider would be an issue (as do they).

That's what i'm scared of misty, I know it can be done but I don't want to overstep the mark.
I'm happy living onsite but it all depends on they saftey for the kids.
We have a meeting this arvo to sort the business out, make our decision and shake hands ! Bit nervous really :)
