pea pods (:
Ok so Dh and i are looking into using cloth nappies, not the old fashioned kind (bugger that lol) but the nappies "pea pods" has anyone used them? or know anyone that has? what are your thoughts?
we are very keen on the idea, obviously we will still have disposables on hand (jic) and will use them while out.
But thought id bring it up with you ladies coz you might have come across something we havent thought of (pros and cons)
Thanks bunches

Hi :)
To be perfectly honest, I never purchased any peapods, because when I googled for reviews, I found more negative reviews than positive. I think they do work for some people, but not the majority (imo)
Plus they are reasonably cheap - and you get what you pay for in cloth nappies I'm afraid.
I stuck to the brands that had very positive reviews, and not many negative. I figure that the more positive reviews - the more likely it will suit my bub.
If you want to come over one day and I'll show you the "good" brands in my stash - I am more than happy to.

i just did a search on BB about peapods and no one had anything nice to say lol.
but we have no idea what we're doing lol, i would much rather get the quality, so i will def shop around.
Thanks heaps :)

Peapods work fine for us!! :D Never had one leak.... so I guess we're just lucky and they fit DD nicely ;) The Smalls are huge. They are a big sized nappy so the smalls would last you ages.
Depends on the shape of bub and other things, how heavy they wet etc etc...
One of my peapods de-laminated (the PUL material came off) and i went to the baby expo and showed Peapods who gave me 3 new nappies in exchange for that one!! Now thats great service. It was one of a bad batch.
my advice? Buy 1 or 2 and see how you go!!
We have a HUGE stash now though and peapods are at the very bottom of the list now  there are some really great nappies out there....
-
how many nappies would you recomend we have? i guess theres no such thing as too many lol, but what wuld be a minimum?
-
I'd recommend 24-28 minimum  but then even with that many you are almost washing daily especially with a newborn!! I have 50+ but i'm addicted too :p:p I wash every 2nd day.
Keep in mind those days when it's impossible to get any sun as it's raining heaps so they take longer to dry.
Try and keep a nappy stash of a mixture... hemp, bamboo and microfibre boosters for example.... pocket nappies and AIO's and fitteds. It's nice to have a mix of things.
-
They were my first nappies and they were ok...and the new design is apparently better. I still use the boosters 3 years later so they can't be too bad....
Yep what Shanti said...Nate started with about 30....he has several more than that now

If you want to wash daily, around 25 is enough, if you would like to wash every 2 days double that :)
I have about 90 lol but I have an addiction, there are some special ones out there!
Some we love are
Baby beehinds bamboo/hemp fitted and their Minky Magicalls are wonderful!!
Itti Bitti (the dlish are wonderful and the Boos are so trim)
Wild Child
Genesa Forge
Twinkle Lily
Bizy bee
There are many more.
There is a second hand auction site for nappies, called buyforbaby, google that :) You can often get new nappies really cheap on there, also lots of second hand. In the beginning I brought almost all second hand nappies to get a feel for what I liked before spending the big $ :) Lucky because I found out Ashton can't tollerate synthetic fibres on his skin so we have to use bamboo lined nappies and liners on the ones that have microfleece. I also found I didn't like pocket nappies and prefer AI2 and fitteds.
Check out ozebaby and wahmnaps (google both) for some cool sites/nappies
Also check out nappycino. It's a wonderful forum with SO much info.

I bought 1 peapod to try and I'm glad that's all I got. I once had a poo leak THROUGH the PUL. I have no idea how that even happens. And they are not really a good fit on DD. They look uncomfortable so I hardly ever use it.
