i have been laybying a swing set from target for over a month and now i see it in the toy sale for $100 off! how can i go about getting it for the cheaper price. i only have about 70 bucks to pay off.. do you reckon they would let me pay it out, then refund it and buy it at the cheaper price? or is there another way to go about it? or do you think they will not be helpful at all?
I have paid out a layby, gotten a refund then repurchased before from Target.
Perhaps check they have the item in stock - then ask what they will do for you.
it can't hurt to ask, big stores like Target are usually pretty good with stuff like that
I know Kmart will change the price on your layby if it comes on sale while it's on layby. For example if you put clothes on layby then 2 weeks later the same clothes are 25% off you can go in and change the price over to the current sale price, they just alter the price. (Which is why they no longer let you layby the toy sale items before teh toy sale begins) I have done this often at Kmart. I have never tried Target but am sure they would. If not, pick it up and return it.
a few years back i had a car seat on lay buy and they had a toys ale 80 dollars off and yep they reduced my laybuy if they dont cause some stores dont, i would pay the 70 dollars off and go and return item and re purchase it :) been there done that too before :) As i lay buyed a bratz partition and later it was reduced again :):
it wouldnt hurt to ask.. and if not, pay it off, refund it and repurchase. you're not doing anything wrong, so it should be fine!
i went in and just had to cancel the lay by, get cash back and then go and purchase it again. bit of a stuff around but worth saving $100!!
You would need to check that they have it in stock..
Last year I had about 5 pairs of Pj's on layby for when I was in hossy having my bubba, and I went in to pick them up. I went and paid for them and collected them first, and then I had a look around the store....got to the PJ section and EVERY ITEM in my layby was on clearance.
I went to the front and asked if I could return and repurchase, and they told me no. I could return them, but they would not place them back on the shelves while I was there, or let me repurchase, they would put them back after I had left!!!!! I tried to explain that if I just returned them, which I could do, then they could just sit on the shelves for ages anyway, and someone else would buy them at the clearance price anyway too:wall:....And because there were none of the pj's left on the shelves in my size, I couldn't do anything. I was not very impressed.
that sux purebaby, i would have been very angry!
