Soapnuts in Dishwasher

.... how do you do it? Do you put some in the bag in the dispenser? cos i don't think that will fit!

I think you just sit them in the bag in the cutlery holder?

I put them in the bag in the wash area, but I only put two or three and then use vinegar in the rinse.

After googling a little bit multiple sites recommended sitting the bag in the cutlery holder so YAYYYY haha

i finally got round to getting a trial pack, i got them from Eco Bambino :)

$5.50 including delivery for a little bag full of nuts

so far I have done one load of washing (very happy!) and lets see how this dishwash comes out!!

I'm guilty of hardly ever using anything in my dishwasher. I find the hot wash cleans just as good as any powder or tablet.

Interested in trying the soap nuts for my laundry though - off to buy some now.

I saw that you can also purchase soap nut powder.Would this work well in a dish washer? Has any one tried the powder?

I'm also interested in how well this worked... I hate using those dishwasher balls, I can just SEE the chemicals sitting on the dishes waiting to poison us (i am a little bit of a chemical phobe I know PMSL!).

well, it worked OK.. but not great. can be used for lightly dirty dishes, but its not going to get rid of baked on lasagne

so, for most washes it is fine, but make sure you have vinegar in the rinse aid.

there is an online store called green demon - they have a stall at our local saturday markets.... he told me that they are currently out of stock, but DO stock natural dishwasher tabs.

He is bringing some for me next time they get them in stock, so I will let you know how they travel.....

I use bi-carb and vinegar sometimes, but I find bi-carb doesn't work well with baked on food or pots. But, if I have a load that is (as you said) 'lightly dirty',then it works fine. Otherwise, I use Eco-store powder. Might skip on the soap nuts for the d/washer then and stick with bi-carb and vinegar (and back up Eco store powder).
