swine flu / influenza ruining my birthday

i haven't celebrated my birthday in 4 years, and i was really looking forward to my party this saturday, yesterday out of nowhere i got severe flu symptoms, i've never had sypmtoms like it - i was in agony with cramps etc.

i went to the drs last night, and he said i definately have influenza, we find out on monday if it's the swine strain.

i really should cancel my party hey - it's outdoors but there;s going to be pregnant women and children there... bugger it.

what would you do?

also, do you think i should be off quarantining somewhere away from my babies??

I would cancel, without a doubt if there are pregnant women and children coming. Or, tell everyone whats going on and let them decide if they want to come.

You could post pone it for a month maybe?? I am sure everyone will understand.

So sorry to hear this hun. The flu sucks badly. We have had it in our house for a week, and today is the first day I have not had to give DS panadol for a week. We have shut ourselves off from the world so as not to inflict this on anyone... But also, because we were so sick, leaving the house was the last thing I wanted to do...

So as much as I hate to say it, I personally would at the very least tell everyone invited to your party and see what they say. Perhaps some wont come. You can always wear a mask... Maybe you might need to postpone...

ETA - My Dr said 1m radius and wear masks, and wash hands etc... Even though we did this, DS still has manage to give his flu to me..

If it's pig flu, cancel.

i've started cancelling everything. i'm so disappointed - frigging flu.
