Writer looking to interview Sydney-based mums and/or dads of 9-12 month old bubs

Hello all,


I'm a freelance writer for several mainstream media publications. I can forward on my biog to anyone who is interested for further info.

I'm working on a personal project which is to interview mums and dads who have had their first-born within the past year - ideally with their bub currently aged 11 months, or nearing their first birthday within the next few months.

For your background, I'm a mum to a 22-month old boy and I have found the transition into parenthood to be an incredible one. I want to interview other mums and/or dads in a similar situation, to learn more about their experiences of early parenthood and what the transition into parenthood has been like for them: good, bad, mixed, challenging, whatever - as long as they are completely honest and heartfelt!

I would then like to compile these interviews into a book for us all to have a record of.

All that is required of participants is:

• An interview by phone on any Monday that works for them, at a time that works for them. The interview would take up to one hour.
• A photo of them when they were pregnant to be forwarded to me for publication alongside the interview (or for dads - a photo taken of them with their pregnant partner).
• An hour or so of their time for the photographer to visit them and take family photos. One of these photos will then also be published alongside their interview.

The only conditions for any interested participants are:

• Their child needs to be their first-born and currently aged between nine to twelve months
• They agree to have their photo and first names published for the purpose of this book (ie no anonymous participants please, unless your story really warrants it)
• They need to live in Sydney, so the Sydney-based photographer I'm working with can travel to them easily
• They need to agree to have a family photo taken by the photographer - ie the photo must include the child and the dominant carers (the parents, guardians - whoever constitutes their immediate family)
