My 9 yr old brother has just been diagnosed with this. It is the size of a golf ball and is extremely noticable. Apparently it develops in utero and it needs to be removed by surgery.
It is sitting inbetween the 2 main arteries which is quite risky.
Has anyone elses child had this and can tell me more info and some positive outcome stories.
Send some positive vibes and :pray: his way please. Everyone is very worried about him. He has spent 2 nights in hospital this week. The poor little man.

The poor little fella! I haven't heard of it before let alone known anyone with it sorry. I hope that the surgery goes smoothly and he is home and that he has no more trouble from it :hug:

I don't know much about it. I know the surgery can be risky, because of the proximity of the vessels, and that sometimes they will err on the side of caution and not remove the entire cyst because it is too dangerous, which means it is possible it will grow back and have to be operated on again in the future.
Also, it's branchial cyst. Don't worry - I always forget the 'n' as well. ;)
