Hi all,

They say that you should have 18 months between births, although there are woman who have had smaller gaps, 18 months is the recommended gap :D.
When I spoke with my ob about it that specialises in VBAC's he said that you have a higher chance of VBAC success if you have at least 18 months between birth.
Gosh I am starting to repeat myself! I hope this helps you.
i was told by other ppl to wait 9 months before trying to conceive again :)
18 months between births is usually the recommended period - that is what my OB prefers (even though there will only be like 15/16 months between mine)
All OB's have their own "recommendations" though - so shop around to get the most supportive one if you are going private. If you are going public - shop around for the hospital most supportive of VBAC'S with the least amount of "conditions"
Then you get the other school of thought that says 12 months from birth to conception making it more like 21 months between births....
Varies between health care providers and their slant  There was 18 months between my c-section and VBAC.
ok so let me get this straight.... is it advised 18months btwn c/s and conception or 18 months from one birth to the next?
Bella
I would say 18 months between births.
I was told to wait 6-9 months before TTC that would make it approx 15-18 months between births. Some people don't wait and have successful VBAC's if thats what you are trying for but I feel after such major surgery to play it safe and go with the recommendation. ;)
ahh ok thanks girls.
And NaeNae.... everytime i see your posts and see all you angel babies i feel for you. I see that you are preg again now and I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I've not been to the place you have nor do i hope for the experience to truly empathize, but my heart goes out.
Bella
I was given the all clear to start TTC about 8 weeks after I had jack .... I didn't fall pg that quickly obviously but I was told all was good to go
 Thanks hun, you will find there are many many women on here that have had it far worse than I have. We have been very lucky in many respects and my anels are part of my story and I am grateful for the experiences and lessons each one has taught me.
Best of luck for when you start TTC again ;)
I was talking to my GP about VBACing and he said that as long as it wasn't three months (after birth) he didn't see a problem for TTC. This does seem soon though and I'm going to hang out to 18 months (after birth) as this is apparently the ideal gap for recovery regardless of plans for the second birth.
Bella - sorry to hijack your thread, but I have questions along a similar line...I also had my DS in early June by emerg c-section and I'm wondering when we're good to go to conceive again. However I am not necessarily concerned about the VBAC side of things...I'm not 100% sure if thats what I want to go for next time round IYKWIM? I wouldn't be devastated if we required another c-section so I'm at peace with that.
Crazy thing is I think I ovulated about a week ago and that just happened to coincide with our first venture back into the bedroom ;) so I'm a little nervous about what to expect if we are pregnant so soon. We'll wait and see. If we are what a blessing, I love being a mum.
Any one on here fallen pregnant very quickly after c-section (like within 2-3 months?) And how did things go for you in relation to pregnancy and birth?
