Helpful Tips?
I use nappy covers and indian prefolds on my baby. They seem to be wet every hour or two, is this normal? I just ordered some hemp inserts to put in the prefolds to act as doublers. Will this help? I am a first time mommy and would appreciate any advice on using nappy covers and prefolds.

Hmm, where are all the experts?? I haven't clothed a newborn, but I will have a go until someone who knows more can find this.
I think indian prefolds are just cotton, in which case probably you would be doing well to get even two hours out of one I imagine. A bamboo or hemp booster should definitely help - both are much more absorbent than cotton.
As I understand it, most people use cotton/flannel with newborns because they need to be changed so often due to frequent poos anyway. If yours are mainly just wet, you might find fitteds/pockets/AIO last a bit longer, though I have found leaving it too long between changes (more than 2 or 3 hours) causes nappy rash in my DD.
Like I said, I haven't had a newborn in cloth, but if I did, I would be expecting to change at least every two hours using prefolds of any kind.
HTH until someone with more experience comes along. Congratulations on your new bub.:)
