migraine help needed
Hello lovely people
I am a migraine sufferer ordinarily when not pregnant.
For the first time in months, here I am at 30 weeks pregnant with a migraine I haven't been able to shake for 24 hours.
I have taken three doses of panadeine and one dose of panadol over the last 24 hours... with the codeine I am worried I will never go to the toilet again but in any case the meds really haven't helped.
Also have been using a Migrastick but while it's pleasant, the pain is still there.
Rang OB today who wasn't in but his staff could only suggest that if I'm really worried I could call the hosp I'm booked in at, and they might monitor me. I don't really want to do that, I live a fair way from hosp and I have 2 other kids... going in there would be my last resort.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced migraine in this late stage, and what worked for you?
Maybe I should just go see gp tomorrow?
Thanks in advance x

CL ... i'm not much help here but me too a migraine sufferer and i suffered a migraine 4 times during my pregnancy and the last one later in the pregnancy was the worst i had it for 4 days ... was shocking & i couldn't even cry with frustration in fear i would get worse
Only thing that relived it (not get rid of it) was when DP got home from work and he would either massage my side temples really hard or press down on that area very hard with his thumbs ... it just gave me relief for those moments but is was better then not having it at all.
I would go to a GP if not feeling any better in the morning.
So, hope you feel so much better sooner than later :D
P.S - I forgot to mention i refused to take any medication as i was paranoid as this was my 1st baby !! ... Explaining the 4 days of suffering.

I am a migraine sufferer too but I didnt have them when preg so I cant help you there sorry. However are you drinking enough water sometimes it can be a sign of dehydration. If it keep persisting maybe duck in and see the dr or go to hospital and just get your blood pressure checked might have something to do with that.
Sorry I cant help a bit better

Sometimes tense neck muscles can lead to the headaches, so the only other suggestion I can think of is a chiro or physio?
I really hope you find some relief. Migraines are awful.

I had migraines earlier in my pg and wAs given a script for panadeine forte which made me feel heaps better and is safe during pregnancy.
So maybe see ur gp and get a script for that.

I had migraines before i fell pg and in the last trimester they were pretty bad. - i was prescribed Mersyndol Forte by both my OB and GP! - they were my lifesavers and safe to take during pregnancy
hope you feel better soon, migraines are terrible :(

My GP prescribed Periactin (and ok'd by my ob).
I haven't needed this pg, but I did use when pg with my DD..
Hope you get it sorted.

Thank you, yes, it was gone by Monday morning, not a nice way to spend a few days, but gone now.
Isn't it fabulous when you recover from something that makes you feel awful? Just makes me so happy in comparison!
In its last days I developed back and neck pain, so in my case I think it was muscular, or related to my sleeping position in some way.
Cheers and thanks again
