Colostrum
Was just wondering bout colostrum.
I had a leakie boob at only 16 weeks, just that once.
It came back at 26 weeks..., and im having a clearish yellow liquid come out of both breast atleast once every second day.
Is this colostrum? Is this was the new born feeds on in the first weeks? How come it doesnt look like milk?
Also, should i start wearing breast pads? And do i need to squeeze this liquid out?
I find i usually get it dribbling out after a shower or bath...

Yup this is colostrum. Wear pads if you are worried about leaking through your clothes.
Don't worry about squeezing it out - it's perfectly normal to have it - some women get it before bubs arrive and others don't. :)
It doesn't look like milk because it's not milk yet if that makes any sense.... but it will become milk a couple or so days after bubs is born.

Souns like colostrum to me :) Nope you don't need to do anything, and you only really need breast pads if you find you get unexpectantly leaky while you're out. The warmness of the shower/bath might be triggering a 'letdown' reflex. :) I had it too, not a lot, but a little.

ohok...cool
I was worried i may need to get it out of my breasts.
Wasnt sure if it was definately colostrum. Is it normal to have it this soon before bub is born, i mean i still have 12 weeks to go??

It's normal for some people, I had it very early... well it's not ABNORMAL, it a normal function and yep it happens earlier in some people :)

oh thank goodness lol
was scared it may be a sign bub is going to come earlier than expected...
My fiance thinks its growse lol...when i sit there trying to sqeeze it out...he said it looks like im trying to pop a big pimple lol.

lol perfectly normal these ladies have said it all:clap:

Yep its normal, I had it the first time around 14-15 weeks then frequently from 18 weeks. I made some breast pads & wore them from around 22 weeks.

Also, if you find you need to wear breast pads wuite early one, it would be worth looking into cloth rather than the disposable ones
