Her first ever pimple, natural treatments?

Well my dd is now 8, along with some pubic hair she has now gotton her first ever facial pimple, right in the middle of her chin, and wow its a biggy.

Last week at school everything was fine, no one said anything to her, it wasnt mentioned at all except for me, saying what it was and explaining not to touch it.

Well by accident she wiped her jumper along her chin to remove some water she spilled, and it ruptured the pimple, so i told her to leave it and not touch it.

It formed a little scab, and all was fine till dance class last night when she came home in tears, as several girls had asked her what it was, when i asked why she was upset she said "i feel uncomfortable telling them it was a pimple", it was quiet raised, but as it was so late at night i left it as she was so upset, and had asked to have the day of school, i said no, but suggested maybe i could put some dance foundation over it in the morning. She agreed.

So this morning i go to put some foundation over the scab to find that not only was there a scab, but under it was yet again another massive yellow pimple, in the same spot.
She started to freak out and wanted me to get rid of it, so not wanting to squeeze it, i slid a pin in to drain it, and make it less noticable, it was very full of gunk, but she ws happy and we put foundation over it, i highly doubt this is the end of this pimple, as i could see it still has stuff in it.
And i just know when there is 1 there will be more..

So at age 8 what is safe to use on her face to prevent or treat any futher pimple brake outs?
I would prefer to use a natural product, but open to any suggestions.

She also wears a lot of make up due to her dancing, so i know this wont help any other pimples.

toothpaste - dab some one it

or

bicarb soda mixed with a little water to make a paste & dab it on

Either one, leave on 5-10 mins & it will dry it out

The Body Shop has these ti tree blemish sticks. Like a pen and you dab it on the pimple, very good.
They also have a Ti Tree facial wash that I used to recommend for young skin, I would have a look at that for her too xoxoxoxo

Oh poor little thing.

Tea tree oil is very good, will help dry them out. Use it morning and night, no need to rinse off.

On another note, are you sure they're not school sores? When i was in year 8, I had what i thought was 2 pimples on my chin, and they turned quite nasty, so mum took me to the drs who said they were actually school sores, and gave me an ointment to treat them.

I never thought of using tea tree oil, i actually have some here, so i might give that a go.
I will definalty go to the body shop and try there stuff as well, as i thinkit will be good if she can have it in her bag and apply when ever she feels the need.

I have heard about using toothpaste on a pimple but when i tried it my self it stung a little, but i may try the bi carb and see what thats like also.

Manhattan, im not sure what school sores look like, but it did definatly look like a pimple, had a yellow head on it. I might google and see if i can find a pic.

Yeah kel, she may be 8 in age, but she looks so grown up and is quite mature in her age, for most things, she still has the 8 yr old tantrums though, lol.

She is in my eyes, very attractive, the rest of her face is clean of any blemishes, so another reason why she is having a freak out, tbh she is freaking out more over having a pimple than she is over getting body hair or af, lol

Yeah, the face wash will really help make sure all the makeup is off. It's nice and foamy (lasts AGES) and gentle xoxoxo

big:hug: my dd was so exited and wore hers with pride she always has a few under the skin now.

Lulu, Sounds like a good idea, at the moment she just uses a wet wipe to remove the make up, and i have wondered about it clogging up her pores, i definatly think a trip to the body shop is in order, but until i get there, i will try the tea tree oil.
Im supprised with all the make up she wears for dance that she hasnt had a pimple earlier.

Squidipa, i wish she would wear it with pride, she is so confident on stage, but when it comes to body apperence, she has some issues, she has dark hair on her arms, and gets teased about it from 1 girl who is pale skined, i dont know why kids have to be so mean.

Someone recommended rosehip oil to me to combat pimples... more a preventative measure than healing ones that have already popped up. You're supposed to use just a drop or two and massage it into your skin, all over your face once a day.

Good luck with it, my goodness kids grow up quick these days!! I was just saying to DH the other day that I'm petrified my girls will be getting AF before they turn 10, the way things are going these days!! I saw a little girl the other day (she couldn't have been more than 10 or 11) who had hips and boobs already - I was like :o poor kid.

Tea tree oil will sting a bit too if the pimple has become an open wound sort of thing, so just watch that too!

i hear ya on that Kids are so cruel, im waiting for my 11 year old to to say that's it i want to shave now!

My very first pimple was also right in the middle of my chin..hehe thought i was so grown up...boy i didn't realise what i was in for....

I second the Tea Tree suggestion..it's FABULOUS
