Hi ladies,
A friend of mine is getting prepared for an IVF cycle later this year. She has 7 frozen eggs and has heard that the success rates for thawed eggs are not good and wants to know if anyone has had any experience or knows anything more about fresh vs thawed eggs. She notes that
Most people freeze embies but in my case its just the eggs. am i just being paraniod?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated,

My understanding is that studies in the past 3 years of so indicate that success rates for frozen eggs now rival fresh eggs, because of advances in cryopreservation. This is the same situation as frozen embryos - ie chances of a successful thaw are now better for FET because of freezing methods.
However this assumes the use of the latest technology to freeze the eggs. If your friend had the eggs frozen recently by a top grade IVF firm using the best available technology then she has a similar chance; if however the eggs were frozen some years ago, the chances may be reduced somewhat depending on what technology was used.

I was told by my FS that frozen cycles are getting as good as if not better results than fresh. I have 7 frozen embryos and my FS was confident that if my fresh one didn't stick, then a frozen one would. (the fresh worked though).
Interesting to hear what anyone else has been told.

I did read it properly but my stupid brain went from egg to embryo.
