Hi there,
Do the amber teething necklaces actually work?? - Also, are they meant to be chewed by bubs, or is it just that they are in contact with the skin? - I'm a bit confused as to how they actually work

I think it has worked for Jack :) Babies don't chew on them. You need to keep them in contact with the baby's skin (under their shirt), baltic amber (not just any old amber) contains succinic acid, which is absorbed into the blood stream and acts as an anelgesic (pain killer). I swear by Jack's amber necklace. I noticed a difference after one day of wearing it. I know a BB member who has said it works for her pain as well (arthritis).
Ooo thanks Marlene!! - That makes sense now :) - i checked out the Amberbebe website and was confused and thought gee if bubs is chewing on those beads and swallows one that could be dangerous  - but now i get it is the properties against the skin that help!....thanks again :D
I think they definately help. DS did his first tooth without one, and his second tooth with one. The second tooth was right next to the first one, so should have been the same, but there was a very noticable difference.
They are not magic- DS still wakes up in teething pain, but they definately take the edge off.
