I have some paw paw ointment here, it's in a black tube and the brand is 'pure nutraceuticals'. Is that the one that's ok to use??
What is it not supposed to have in it??

I've heard a yellow one, but I have no idea...sorry. I just know not the red one.
yeah pure nutraceuticals is okay...so is simmons. The one to avoid is the Lucas brand with the petroleum base as it leaves a film on the fibres of the nappy...there is a safe Lucas brand...just read the labels if unsure.
thanks mel!!
that one is ace sara!! works really well!
I have been using it today and it has actually been clearing DDs rash up!! Awesome!! It usually only improves over night when I use sposies and sudocrem.
It's pretty oily stuff though, so that's ok?? I'm still worrying about my precious nappies, pmsl.
I want to get some of that stuff!! I havent' been able to find it anywhere near me :(
Does anyone know if you can use that Gaia soothing lotion with MCN's?? DD has been getting heaps of rashes lately from solids and teething but I too, just use sposies and bepanthen or sudocreme on her butt which I hate doing.... or sometimes the Gaia stuff too....
ren check at the chemist, do you have chemist warehouse?? otherwise im happy to get some and send it to you! the gaia soothing lotion has zinc in it so id say no
Ren- I think DH got it from the chemist just near us so I can get you some if you want?
ETA- oh snap, lol
Thanks AJP & Heaven :D I'll keep looking for it and if I can't find it I might get you to get me some. I've heard of it before but forgot about it until now!!
There is a website I just found that sells it for $11.95 100g. or $6.50 30g....
Shanti - can I have that site? I've been looking around here & can't find it either.
I love that one, pure nutraceuticals'. It is great. I even have small tubes in my handbag and on my desk for my lips... I get mine from Chemists warehouse.... And I think I saw some in priceline the other day.
bottom balm. Awesome stuff!!
Just wanted to post that I actually use sudocrem with my MCN and haven't had any issues. Mines are all hemp and bamboo. In fact I use it at every change and haven't needed a strip wash yet.
My dad (a GP) reckons paw paw has too much sugar in it for nappy rash, and in some babies it can feed the problem. If its working for you then keep using it, but I know for some babies it makes it worse.
HTH
Shanti, where in QLD are you? I'm on the Goldie annd the chemist near (Runaway Bay) has it. I'd also be happy to send some to you if you prefer over ordering it.
So, you don't need to use a liner when using that black paw paw ointment?
Anna, do you use liners?
DS has had a pretty persistent nappy rash for about 4 weeks now. It seems to get better than worse, then better again. It seems like the skin is just too dry to heal properly. I don't want to use a barrier cream as it stops the skin from breathing and doesn't seem to help with moisturising the skin (and I've tried heaps). They worked initially, but won't help with the rest of the healing process.
My friend in Sydney has a chemist that makes a miracle bottom cream. It's thin and light and I had a tiny bit left from DD and it seemed to work wonders. But it just wasn't enough. So I bought the paw paw ointment to tide me over until another parcel arrives from Sydney and although it is quite oily, it doesn't seem to suffocate the skin as much as traditional barrier creams and it seems to be working really well to keep the skin moisturised and let it heal off completely.
Anyway, is it alright to use without a liner on MCN?
