Advice please - early labour or ???
Hi there,
I'm 38+1 today, baby #3. I have a question... am I in early labour or did I just have a bad sleep? My lower back & upper thighs are absolutely aching. So badly, like when I had a miscarriage last year. The only thing that has me stumped is that it's not coming & going, just a constant ache. It's been there for past 45 minutes (I know not that long), but just want to get some other peoples' opinions. I was thinking of calling the hosp if it continues for longer than another hour (2hrs total)...
I don't know if this is what my body does in labour or not as my first baby was 10 days over, I was induced, my waters broke after 2 doses of gel, but then I didn't progress (got to 2cm after 36hrs) and ended up with a caesar. Turns out my little boy's head was stuck in my pelvis, the staff laughed as they pulled him out saying "no wonder he didn't fit" and was 9lb even. 2nd baby was looking to be just as big and at the time I was too scared to attempt VBAC with a big baby when my first didn't fit, so I opted for an elective caesar at the last minute, born 39+2 and was 8lb 12.
So the only time I ever really "allowed" my body to experience anything was when I opted to let my baby miscarry naturally instead of a D&C.
Anyway... so my body felt this way when I miscarried at 13 weeks, is this the way my body prepares for birth too?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Lee xx
