please help in so much pain!

I have just woken up in soooo much pain. my caesarean scar feels like it could burst! I think i might be ovulating, same thing happened almost a month ago, but at night and I was on the floor writhing in agony until I took some panadeine, then it went away and I forgot about it. till now.
has anyone else experienced this? it has been almost 10 months since the op, af returned 8 weeks after, my periods have been normal and now this is happening. dp thinks it could be gas, but all the pain is in my scar and behind it IYKWIM?

Im gonna ring and make an appt with a doc as soon as one is open, just looking for some reassurance I guess. OMG it hurts so much.

I have just fed DS and that has made it worse...:rolleyes:

I am also experiencing awful, monthly pain (though it doesn't sound as bad as yours) and I think it's when I'm ovulating. I also had a c/s and my AF returned two months ago. Before AF returned I had a horrible pain that felt like my uterus was swollen and it was a constant ache with no relief. I went to a GP and she said it was prob a UTI. But then a month later I got the pain again. And recently I had it again. I'm also thinking it's time to go get it checked out again.

I hope you can get some answers. I'd love to know if you do get an answer.

I have a doc appointment on friday, hopefully can get some answers.
I spoke to a friend of mine today who was experiencing the same kind of thing, she ended up in hospital having a laparascopy to see what was wrong, turned out she had adhesions from her 2 previous c sections and had to get the scar tissue cut out, fingers crossed its not that bad!

I didn't have a c/s but I have the pain at ovulation.
Another thing it could be is you have endometriosis from the c/s.
Did any of you have any other probs after the birth of you beautiful bubs??

I've had the attitude that it'll just heal with time. Also when I'm not in pain I don't see the point of going. But maybe I should go get checked out too. I just don't understand why there would be such pain at ovulation? Why would adhesions and endo hurt at ovulation? Before I was pregnant I used to have a sharp pain with ovulation but it only lasted a little while (maybe 10 mins). Now I have a long lasting ache for about a week.

chris - After the c/s I was obviously sore and tender for a little while but then I didn't have any problems until a couple of weeks before AF returned (8 months after c/s). During pregnancy I did suffer from sore & numb hands, knees and feet. And I still have that somewhat now. I didn't think that could be linked though?

Had my appointement yesterday afternoon, didnt go too well....

The female doc I usually see wasnt there so I saw another femals doc, who expressed surprise at me still BFinf DS (:rolleyes:) then went on to say that it probably is ovulation pain, heres the pill, it will probably dry up your milk but hes a big boy he doesnt need it anymore now....:wall: if after being on the pill for 3 months, I still have pain she will look into it further!

I m kinda like what???

I just left, I couldnt be bothered arguing with her, DS had just had his immunisations and was not happy, so I will just go see my normal doc next week I think.
Im really peeved about it though, for one, why would I want to stop BFing? why would I want artificial female hormones coursing through my milk and into my male DS, and two why give me drug therapy to stop something that "may" be the cause, what happens when I stop taking the pill?? (not that im going to take it!) I go thru all that pain again, so then they can find the underlying cause?? urghhhh!! so unhappy with med profession!

STARRYSKY - I just saw this post as well as your other posts about your experience with the doctor. It's amazing the difference between doctors isn't it. I've seen some who have also told me that I can just stop breast feeding cos I've done it for long enough. :wall: I finally found a great doctor & last time I saw her I was asking about birth control and she said you definitely can't take the pill while breast feeding. I hope your usual doctor is back soon and you can get some answers. I'm waiting to see if my pain comes back this cycle before seeing a doctor. If I get my pain again then I'll make an appointment too.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe the Dr did that :angry: your DS may be 9 months, but saying that he doesn't need BF anymroe and to take The Pill which you both know will dry up your milk causing him to stop now is just so unthoughtful!! I would have quoted straight back to her about the WHO recommendations of 2 years ;)

Sorry I can't provide any feedback about C/S scars, I just hope that you have a more pleasant experience with your normal Dr next week, and can get some more definitive answers.

Sometimes the process of elimination in medicine is exactly like what this fool of a Doc decided to do. Try a pill to identify a "probable" cause. Unfortunately apparent cycle based presentations can make things difficult but it really isn't the only way to look for a cause.

However, making decisions like this is a shared one, so a bit more tact and making sure the patient is happy with the choices made ends up with a happy patient.

So I understand the thought but really detest the delivery. Lazy of her really.

I don't think, given the intensity and debilitating nature of the pain, that waiting 3 months for a diagnosis is good enough.
