I am not sure what they are called but you get those little bed things that goes between mum and dad on the big bed- like a soft frame thing so bubs doesn't get rolled on etc.
Anyway am wondering what they are called and secondly if anyone has used one or if they are something that are not really needed?
We used one with our DD but she didnt really like it.:rolleyes: -preferred being in the actual bed in between DH and I. - We only used it for 3 weeks and i ended up giving it to a friend of mine. The one we got was called "My Little Bed" by sweet dreams
Personally we found it to be a bit of a pain, I think we used it about 3 times then DS just slept next to me in my arms. I also think they take up too much room. They would be good if you had a king sized bed, but in a queen there's not enough room.
We also bought a my little bed thing and had ditched it by a week or two. I still co-sleep with DS mostly and he's nearly 6 months, and have done so just in my arms since the beginning. I found with all three kids my instinct was there. If you're concerned about DH I found a pillow in between him and I was fine, or I put the bed against the wall for a while and had bub between me and wall xo
I didn't use one with ds but I got one this time because ds still co-sleeps part of the night, so I thought it would be safer.
Yeah that, they take up heaps of room and leave little for mum and dad. Our DS slept in my arms and when he got bigger we just took the side off his cot and he sleeps side car now.....or between us depending where he wants too :lol:.:
I agree that they take up too much room - definitely not enough space in a queen size bed. We bought a "First Years safe and secure sleeper" and I'm trying to return it - we got it when Zac was only 5 weeks old and he was already too big for it! Also, they recommend that the parents on either side have their own bedding so that your bedding doesn't cover over the baby sleeper. All in all, I thought it was a waste of time and money, and pretty much defeated most of the benefits of co-sleeping anyway - you may as well just have them in a cot or bassinette right next to the bed!
What I did try for a while (while DH was sleeping in a separate bed) was to have the pram bassinette beside me on top of the bed - that was definitely better than the sleeper thing.

Ashton was miles to big for it, I don't see how they last very long at all.

As you can see his head is on the top and his feet are on the bottom.
I found it useless anyhow as I had to move him out to feed him so i gave it away.
Personally I wouldn't waste your $. Get a side rail for the bed (I got the safety first one that sits on the TOP of the bed) and keep bubs between that and you.
Yep, those looked too big in the shop... I knew it wouldn't work.... glad I saved my money... wish we had bought a King sized bed before we had kids though, that would have been money well spent!
We co-slept from birth... Dh and I just instinctively knew our children's location... never rolled on them. We aren't over weight though, and we never drank heavily or were on sleeping tablets... apparently they are some of the risks. We also put a cradle on my side of the bed for those times that I was exhausted and really needed to sleep without maintaining awareness. I also used to BF alot in bed while lying down... that wouldn't work with a Little Bed.
We have a tetra snuggle bed and we use it all the time, but there is no way it would fit between DP and I in bed.
I use it in DS cot as well as in the portacot just to make him more secure. At the moment DP is away for work, so I am using it in our bed so he is next to me. My SIL also uses hers in the lounge on the couch, and also on a rug outside when the weather is good.
A big thank you to all for your comments and suggestions. DD just never liked co-sleeping and still won't to this day. The minute she left my arms she would wake, so I was more looking at the little bed as something that maybe useful (not anymore) to assist with cosleeping rather than something to stop me rolling on new baby when he/she appears but I do think it is a personity thing on bubs' part so I will certainly try again with #2!
