VBA2C X 2 and a whopper!!
I did it! I had my second VBA2C at John Hunter Hospital and boy oh boy was he a wopper!
Oran Charlie born 19th August 2009
4670gms or 10lbs 5oz! He was my biggest so I would love to track down the Dr who said anything over 8lbs would not be doable!!
Dr Bisits did a stretch and sweep at about 4pm, by midnight I was having niggles but could sleep though them I went into established labour at 2am, we got to the hospital about 3am-ish and I was 4-5cm but Oran's head was still up high and this did worry me a bit,
I was using my tens machine as pain relief but the contractions were very intense, the midwife called them "good" contractions....I told her that was not the word I would use lol! So I also had a morphine shot which really helped. I could actually feel Oran's head moving down and opening my pelvis, I could actually feel the pressure of them opening up so he would fit! It was surreal.
my waters broke and I was 6cm then literally 2-3mins later I was pushing. From here it is a bit of a blur, Scott was using ice to keep me cold and conscious because I have this horrible reaction to intense pain that makes me pass out....not helpful when you need to push a baby out but luckily keeping my core body temp down helps keep me conscious. I was in labour for under 3 hours. It only took 6 mins to get him out and they did need to maneuver his shoulders being such a big boy.
I had a small 1st degree tear that didn't need stitches and that I don't even know is there so all in all I got off very lightly seeing I gave birth to a small elephant lol!
I can't recommend JHH highly enough for VBACing they really are just so amazing about it!
