Do not understand, any advice appreciated!
Hi all,
I went for my 19 week scan yesterday hoping to see that all was well with little one and fond out the sex.....when we got in there, we were there for a maximum of 5 mins from start to finish and the radiologist told us that I was actually 4 weeks or a month behind what I though I was.
The first day of my last period was the 14th of April and I recorded it straight away, having a 4 day cycle and I did not have a cycle again after that, nothing at all....So I want to know how they work out I fell pregnant on the 11th May ( Or there about ) according to one scan alone, if I didn't have another cycle after April.
Their reasoning was that the fetus was smaller than he/she should be for 19 weeks and our question is couldn't that justy indicate a small or slow developing baby??
We are really unsure here as our last 3 pregnancies were all at the right date.
This was my first scan and I just don't know what to think, I am seeing the GP tomorrow.
If I wasn't so clear on my dates I wouldn't even question this but I have them written down.
Also the placenta was low lying and almost right near the cervix, This I know can create problems!!
Thanks for reading, Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much everyone!!
WOW!!!
Thanks so much all of you for your kind words and advice, suggestions and questions to ask GP.
From the word go, the radiographer was not very polite, did not introduce them self to my husband or I and just did not seem at all interested in the job at hand. let alone being at work that day by the body language was perceived.
Anyway yes it was meant to be my morphology scan as I was ( at least I thought ) 19 weeks. And yes the radiographer did mention that the bub being only at that gestational age,(15 Weeks ) the fetus was too young to do a longer scan so I will grant them that fact, although I have even had longer dating scans with my previous pregnancies, internal ultrasounds.
Thank you to all those suggestions of questions to ask my GP, I will add them to my list and thank you for the possible reasoning behind a few of my queries!!
I had considered the fact that I may have ovulated later than I had originally thought, we had no real need to track such a thing in the past!
I think what my main concern was that I am positive about my dates and am worried that the bub isn't developing accordingly. The head circumference measurement was only 2.9 cm and that to me just doesn't seem right, considering a baby of that gestational age should measure around 4.5 inches in length roughly!!
This web site was recommended to me by a friend, she told me that you guys were so helpful, so thank you!!
Anyway I will ask all these questions to my GP tomorrow and keep you all informed!!
Many thanks once again
