There's a huge dominance of boy babies over girls among my partner's family and friends: 14 boys to 3 girls over one generation. It began as a slight theme but is now getting really crazy - ALL of the most recent 6 babies (to 5 different women over 3 years) have been boys. Why could this be?!
By contrast, my friends and family back in the UK have 3 boys to 5 girls.

I've seen things like this. Friends of ours had the first 2 girls to be born into his family in like 100 years!
I guess its something to do with genetics & the male sperm being stronger, or more of them??
In our family it's the opposite - all girls. My parents have 8 grandchildren - 7 girls (mine 4 and my sister's 3) and 1 boy (my brother's). Not exactly sure what causes it, but there certainly seems to be a family predisposition towards one or the other.
its amazing how it all works hay. In our family, its girls. M has 11 cousins, only 2 are boys. its madness.. send some boy vibes this way!! lol
On DH's side there are 20 great grandkids with only three boys!
My side is mainly all girls, where as DH is alot of boys
9 of my friends/ aquaintances are having babies at the moment all due within 4 months of each other.
7 of us having boys and 2 having girls.

I think it's totally random to be honest! Of the five women you mentioned, are their partners all brothers? If not then it's just a coincidence. Sperm decides the gender, so if they are all completely unrelated men, but the women are related then it's just one of those things ;)
Cricket, in your case for example, while it seems like a family predispostion it's not really. Your husband & your BIL I assume are unrelated, so there's no real link there. See what I mean??:
So in my husbands family...him and his 2 brothers and their 2 male cousins and one female cousin there are 11 great grand daughters and the first boy was born last year to one of his male cousins. I think its quite odd myself. Each family has 2 girls the boy was the third in that family.
All the generation of my husbands, brothers and first cousins are mainly boys....only 2 girls and 6 boys.
its funny cos I was 1 of 3 girls, my aunty has 4 girls, we were girl dominated...
Since then i've had 3 boys, my partner has 2 boys, my sister had a boy then a girl lol we're evening it out. Oh and my uncle had a girl then a boy who's Ashtons age :)

On my side of the family girls dominate. I am 1 of 7 grand-daughters to my mother's parents.... no boys.
On my DH's side he is one of 4 boys and his mother has 2 brothers... only 2 girl in 3 generations.
My side of the family (girl dominance) all the families kept chooks and ate lots of eggs (a girl making food if you believe that kind of thing)... also my side of the family the men were all heavily into sport. Elite sportsmen traditionally have girls... think about it.
DH's family all hate eggs and none of them play sport... boy dominant.
My own family: DH doesn't like eggs but we are fit. 1 girl, 2 boys.
My sisters family: Like eggs, fit: 2 girls, 1 boy.

Well for coincidences... There is a group of us here who've had bub's in the last 2 years. Out of 8 of us, there is one girl, lol. Almost all the boys will be in the same year at school! 2 or 3 will go, then the rest will go the next year.
Ok Bath...going with the fitness theory, DH was roof tiling (so pretty fit!) when the girls were concieved, but was welding (more sitting on your bum) when DS was concieved... I was also less fit when DS was concieved, but not sure if that helps, lol.
interesting article from the MCL section I found The Disappearing Male though I have to admit that anecdotally it does seem to me there are more boys around.:p
My BB Baby Buddy group also has a dominence of males... I have heard that the male is disappearing but to me it doesn't seem the case either...
My side of the family, my parent grandkids, there are 6 boys to 9 girls. My Dh side there are 1 boy to 3 girls. A little dominence of females.
i work in CC and one day of attendance we only have one girl in a group of 15!!!! but in the older room there are more girls than boys and by the time you get to the kinder room it evens out a bit

WRT sperm deciding the gender - isn't there some medical condition where some omwne can't carry boys? So it seems to me that no matter what the sperm is determining, if mum can't carry boys, then obviously she's only going to have girls. And if some women have this but have early losses, then they'd neevr know, KWIM? Just my thoughts!
My dad has 2 brothers, no sisters. All the children coming from them have only been girls - 5 in total. My sister is the first out of the 5 of us to have a baby, and she had a boy. We'll find out in a few weeks if this one is too! But I have a theory that we'll all have boys as well. It'll be interesting to find out anyway!
