Itti bitti size Q
ATM I'm trying out a few AIOs to see which suit DS the best. I picked up an Itti Bitti dlish snap in one in a small (in the 'like a tiger' design - OMG so cute!!!).
Hes almost 12 weeks old and approx 5.5kg. He's a skinny minny too. Narrow around hips and thighs IYKWIM? '
Tried the small on him, and its a bit too tight on the smallest snaps, let it out to the last snaps and it seems OK around the tum / waist, but when he stretches and kicks his legs out it sort of rides down.....almost to the point where its hardly even covering his bits! I wondered if medium might be the go?? Also seems a little bit gapey around the legs - poo containment concern there...hmmmm.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be great....loving the IBs and would like to get more.

I would say a medium for your little one.
It is a higher rise in the medium so should fit/suit him better. plus you will prob find he will fit them for a while yet in a medium, wont last long in a small.

For a better leg fit i'd go with the sewn in.
Did you do it up nice and tight? Don't be shy! ;)
I have a few smalls, but find the Medium fitted from about 6kgs for my D, but she has chubby little thighs.
I love the Mediums as i have had so much wear out of them My first daughter fitted into a Medium from 3 months to 22 months, it is just a bit small now. In an emergency i can still use a M on her. In contrast the Smalls only fit for a couple of months...
Maybe swap the S for a medium with someone to try the next size.....

Go mediums for sure. My DD fit into medium from 6kgs which was around 12 weeks. At the time she had skinny legs but she soon developed some chubb in that area and was out of them by 9 months..

I'd be a bit concerned that the mediums will gape around the legs. Make sure you measure around them and check on the website to be sure. If you get them they will fit eventually but possibly you won't get the fit you're after straight away is he is a skinny minny ;)
I've only put DD into mediums from 8 months as her legs were too skinny

Ash was in and out of smalls in a blink. In mediums for a couple of months, and has been in larges since he was 5 months old. He is now out of them because the rise isn't very good.
They are a great nappy... pretty and pattable, cheap and trim, but they do have their downfall. They have been known to get crinkly in the drier, they stain with panadol badly.
The snap ins are more absorbant but can get more leg gape and the sewn ins have way less leg gape.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say try some different ones. I have a med for my skinny minny and it's a terrible fit - so bad I'm going to onsell as I never see it fitting him.
Bundles of buns are similar to ittis but much more absorbant and fit heaps better.... IMO anyway.

I have only just started in cloth, and a friend lent me 4 small and they fitted on the largest setting, dd was just over 12 months at the time and was just on 7 kilos, I brought medium she is now 8.5 kilos at nearly 14 months, (she was sick at 12 month lost weight hence the 7 kilos). so dd would of been in smalls till around 11 month if I had started before then. I get some leg gap with mediums if not tight enough on.

Thanks all, now I just need to decide whether to try a medium, or just look for some other brands.....thanks Kim on the tip for Bundles of Buns....hadn't heard of them.

oh there are SO many great brands out there!!
Whizz Kidz
Wild Child
Cherubs Kill
Beetlebums
Bits For Bots
Bubblebubs
Daddledoo
Dragonfly Magik
Genesa Forge (my favourite)
...
goodness lol I could name about 100 more if you like :P

Ooooh thank you missymoo.....more to hunt down....so hard to know what to try though. For a skinny babe, what would be your top 3 to recommend from experience? DS is long with skinny hips and legs and we'll need a decent rise as he manages to drag the nappies down when he kicks his legs around.
Thanks!

I would say a front snapper would suit you.
A size 1 Wild Child, minky ones are the best, they have pretty bling nappies too.
Or a Whizz Kidz, they are very versatile and have lasted Ash from a couple of months old till now and he still has HEAPS of room to grow.
Genesa Forge front snappers are great!! Or try a small side snapper. Her night nappies are awesome because you can add or remove boosters to make it for a heavier wetter or a day nappy :)
Cute Tooshes Bamboo Delights are great at that age too! We loved them and had a lot of them for the first 5 months.
Baby Beehinds one size and their minky magicalls are great! I prefer the minky to the smooth personally, but there is a store selling 6 smooth and 1 minky for $100 so let me know if you want the link :)

Well I ended up finding an IB d'lish in a large at a local second hand market for a bargain price, brand new too. Couldn't pass it up, thought lets see what it fits like. And would you believe its almost perfect!
MUCH better in the rise, lovely round the tum (with heaps of room to grow into as I can go to the outer snaps when necessary) and the leg gape issue seems to have been fixed now that the rise is better and DS can't kick it down so much. We'll just have to do the containment test now and see whether we get anything sneaking out LOL and see how they go for absorbency.
On another note, anyone got experience with the Wild Child Workhorse nappy?
