Nope sorry :( but wanted to say that I think he would look gorgeous doing a cake smash!
Thanks Raven :D
I am hoping someone in Tas has done one. I know lots in Melb and Sydney but don't want to travel THAT far lol
I know that *becstar* has done the cake smash with her kids so you should PM her, you might have to clear some messages though :p
BTW the photos' are fantastic, you will be really pleased with the results.
Hi ladies.. whats a cake smash?
Hope this isn't a silly question... lol
The photo's I have seen had an all white background and some standard shots of the kids and mum mucking around and posing and then the photographer put a green cake (I think that was the colour but it certainly contrasted with the background) and let the kids at it. As you can imagine a 3 kids under 5 had lot's of fun lol but the photos are great.
LOL Avasmum - I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Me too! What's a cake smash??
If you google you find some great examples but basically you put a child and a cake together and let him/her go nutso :)
Mollie Kendall Photography ? cake smash
That is what I am after :)
I've talked to Bec, and she's passed on the details. Can't wait to get it done :)
wow thats such a great idea, would of never thought of that to do, might have to do one for graces 1st bday nxt year , goodluck finding someone let us know how it goes xx
Oh I love shooting these, they are so much fun - the cake actually keeps the baby in the one spot for a good deal of time...LOL
Thought I'd give this thread a nice big bump because I just did my own yesterday, and although it was a bit of a disaster (she wasn't interested in the cupcakes!), the photos have turned out really well :D It did take some smooshing-icing-on-her-face for the cute and messy photos, but they look pretty good.
One tip I'd give anyone who wants to do a cake smash is to make the "smashing area" very big. Not only did Amelia keep trying to escape, I had to get rid of some good photos because you can see the edges of the blankets I used as a backdrop. I cropped a lot, but some couldn't be used because I wanted the colour behind her...
I did one with my ds (I had a pro do them tho, they had never heard of one either but I just explained what I wanted and they made it happen!) and I have a shot with him covered in icing bawling his eyes out because he hated it so much. It's my fave XP
