I had my baby yesterday morning-33 weeks and a total surprise!!
I'll post everything in Birth Stories when the shock wears off but as I naively believed I had more time, I don't have a Post-It girl so I'm flying solo on this one!
Seth John Jamie was born at 11.36am on 1/9/09 after a 4hr labour, 21/2 which was spent at home as Mummy was convinced she was badly constipated or had an UTI!! Despite our messy separation I agreed to go with the name my husband picked out months ago for a boy- 1st middle name is my deceased dad, 2nd is husband's father.
Seth is 1.34 kilos, 29cm long and is the superstar of the NICU where he'll need to stay from 3-7 weeks. I actually got to cuddle him last night for about 30 minutes before they transferred him from his litle cot to his isolette for bedtime. They're removing his breathing tube this morning and going to start him on my milk today (apparently I'm a human cow who is producing more than most women who go to full-term!!) but there are still a few concerns with Seth but as this is already the longest BA in history, I'll save all that for my birth story.
As I discharged myself after the mandatory 6hr waiting period much to the dismay of every medical professional encountered, I'm off to express now and try to find some non-maternity clothes in my spare room as I'm actually smaller now than before I was pregnant. Crazy!! I didn't even get to wear most of the clothes I bought.
