My 2 year old DS has started saying "Daddy"...
My DS has said "Daddy" a few times before but tonight he was calling me Daddy and when my mum was over earlier, he was calling her Daddy. We said "No, thats Nanny" and when he called me Daddy, I said "No, i'm mummy". He looks at you and smiles cos he knows that we're not Daddy, but thought he'd just try it out anyway.
Im sure he sees plenty of other Daddy's coming to get their children from childcare so im assuming thats where he's picked it up from. I always knew that this time would come, i guess i just naively thought i'd have a little longer than 2 years before i had to deal with it.
I dont want to go into a lot of detail about DS father ona public forum, but basically we dont have anything to do with him. He lives in another country and has never had any contact with DS. I've decided to leave it up to DS when he is old enough to make the decision on whether or not he wants to contact his father.
My question is, what should i say to him when he calls us Daddy?
