Hi all,
I feel like my lino floor in the kitchen & tiled floor in the bathroom & front door entrance never look or feel clean after i've mopped them :rolleyes:
I have used a few different brands of liquid floor agents but they all seem to be the same ... Which brings me to ask - What do you use and highly recommend ??? (i would so love to know) ;)

i just use pinocleen in hot water!!
... just an after thought i was thinking ALSO maybe i should use something instead of my sponge squeezy type mop ... What do you ALL think ?? :think:
get yourself a good big bunch of oregano, stalks and all about 5 or so litres of water, and bring it to the boil.
Turn it off and allow it to steep until it cools.
Mop your floor with it :) You can reheat it to mop with it if you like. (I do)
Also use it in a sray bottle instead of spray'n'wipe...25 times stronger than bleach and cleans really well :)
Vinegar and water works a treat, I use a sponge mop and find it cleans really well.

for my tiles, i use Ajax floor cleaner with the baking soda (green bottle) and really hot water. I use a Vileda mop and bucket system. The mop bit isn't like a traditional mop, it's flat. I love it. I also re-mop a second time with clean hot water and Ajax floor cleaner added
I use really hot water with about a half cup of vinegar and a few drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil, which works very well and is cheap!
I have a "proper" mop- one of the big thick stringy ones that you need a special bucket for and have to wring out. Frankly, I find it a pain- the floor gets really wet and takes forever to dry because I can never get it wrung out enough, which is bad for wood floors. Having said that, I do know its better for cleaning- my cleaning lady (who I can sadly no longer afford) swears by them, and when I used work at Baker Delight and had to mop the floor, there was a vast difference between trying to mop with a big mop and a little spongy one. But in order to get the best out of the big mop, you really had to put lots of elbow grease in.
All said and done, I am thinking of reverting to a spongy mop because its easier, and my floor isn't (usually!) covered in dough like a bakery! And bits that need extra attention I will get down and scrub.
I use a steam mop and a couple of tablespoons of vinegar in the chamber. No streaks.
But....going to try Limey's tip too!
... hey Kim was thinking about getting a steam mop ... um, silly question where do i buy one from & which brand (name,etc) do you recommend to buy ? If you don't mind my asking approx how much are they ?? as i have no idea ;)
I've got a steam mop but it seems like such a pain in the bum to get it out, fill it up... i think it's actually easier to mop the old fashioned way (but maybe I'm strange).
Anyway, just seconding the idea of hot water a cup of vinegar, a few drops of lavendar oil and a Vileda mop and bucket. Works like a dream :)
Yep, we use hot water, vinegar and a little trea tree oil for a nice smell and its disinfectant properties...:
Yep vinegar is great for floors, I use one of those 'stringy' mops too. Otherwise I sometimes use sugar soap, it's really good for cleaning stuck on dirt.
I have a proper old type mop big head a industrial type mop bucket (bunnings) I use i jug 2ltre boiling water and jug of hot water and domestos bleach, (blue bottle) I use it on my timber floors, my vinyl and will use it on tiles when they go down
works a treat looks clean and smells clean I also pop the ceiling fans on to help drying process
dishwashing detergent in really hot water
I use metho in really hot water it works a treat on tiles and timber floors.
