Her wee streams like a boys???

Not sure this is really the right place for this post? I figured it is about wee so nappies and toilets might be the right place for that! LOL

I noticed when DD was tiny and would occasionally wee while having her nappy changed, that the stream would sometimes go "up" and over the tops of her legs.

As she got older and wasnt just on her back I noticed her nappy wet zone was more to the front and middle rather than the middle to back. Maybe that was just the crawling position??? The reason I mainly thought about it is cause she is in modern cloth and the snap in boosters get arranged different for boys/girls in some models.

now that she is a toddler I have noticed it moreso: if she does a wee while standing up (waiting for the bath or something, with no clothes on) the stream comes out like a boy: straight out , and then as the flow slows it runs down between her legs.

IS THIS NORMAL??? I have never watched another girl to examine her flow and I just thought the flow would naturally go down? I'm pretty sure mine does?

Perhaps it is to do with her skinny little girly bits and as puberty fills them out the flow direction will change? Ah I'm getting embarrassed by my ignorancy :redface:

The more I type the stupider I feel! Everything LOOKS normal I reckon. I just wondered how it will work on a potty or toilet? I hope it goes in!

I think it's pretty normal, so I wouldn't worry!

I think this is ok - my DD2 is the same

She probably just does big, forceful wees. The more flow that's forced out of the urethra the more it shoots out KWIM.

That's what I was thinking too. But you know when you over-think something for a while.;... well my mind goes a bit mental with imagination LOL. I can think a problem up from anywhere!

She got a bit of a shock when it happened yesterday cause she actually saw it coming out in front of her! LOL

She is dry for several hours at a time now so maybe the volume contributes to the forcefullness. Plus I have noticed it when she is upset so she is crunching up everything else then too. Makes sense.

DD's cloth nappies are always wet at the front and not the back. Haven't seen her wee with her nappy off though.

same here!! i still dont get why huggies have boy/girl nappies to he honest!

I was thinking the same about DD too. In the bath, when she wees its just like a boys stream. It streams out on an angle to the front.

Thanks for the post. Clears it up for me too. I was thinking if that was normal or not too, but too embarrased to ask mum or DH.

Sounds normal to me. Things will probably change when she gets a little more padding down there

I wonder about the boy/girl nappy thing too. I reckon they are just clutching at straws to gain more market share... "ours cater more specifically" KWIM?

Ok. problem solved. Easy as that. I love BB for this kind of thing: something you feel too stupid asking your IRL friends. :redface:

DD1 sometimes almost pees out of the toilet if she doesnt sit far enough back :lol:

yeah DD is the same. so very normal
