Would you go to a skin specialist or a plastic surgeon or...?
I have one I'd like removed, mainly because I hate it and cause DD1 used to pick at it while BF (it is high up on my right breast - you can see it unless I wear a high neckline) and I'd prefer to get it removed before DD2 gets to the 'picking' age.
Who do I see? I'd be pretty sure it's not cancerous - I've had it for years and it hasn't changed much (just seems to get uglier each time I look at it).

I've had several removed by my GP. My sister had one on her chest which required a plastic surgeon, she was referred to one by her GP. So see your GP.
I think you need to go to your gp first don't you? Then they'd refer you on?
I had one removed when I was in grade 3 and we just went to our Gp. They then put you in the right direction ;)
I had mine done by a GP but I have a horrible scar now so ask for a referal to a plastic surgeon
i've had them removed by GP - my dad had three done last week by GP - if they are large and may need reconstruction you may be referred to a surgeon but i think most are just booked as long appointments and done under a local with your GP
That's what I was worried about. It is in quite a prominent spot if I'm wearing a lower cut top (not plunging or anything). I did mention it to the GP at my 6 week check, but she brushed me off... I guess I'll try again.:

I've had a number removed, including one on my nipple a month ago. The first on my tummy were done by a skin specialist, the next on my back by a plastic surgeon and the last on the nipple by a breast surgeon. I have tiny scars, the worst on my back due to the type of skin, but am happy with the results. I suggest getting a referal to one of them, the GP's often don't have the experience to do it really well, particularly if it is in a very visible place.

GP cost me nothing, it was bulk billed
We have privat health cover. But the breat was most expensive as it was under a ga. Both plastic and skin were only about $150 from memory
Get your GP to give you a referral to your public hospital dermatology or plastics clincs. Dermatology is more relevant and more likely to do it. Having it done in the public hospital system won't cost you anything although their might be a bit of a wait. We do them all the time at work. It is a short proceedure - maybe 20 minutes at most. Can't speak of the people you are likely to see, but the Registrar I work with at the moment is BRILLIANT. Does a great job and patients hardly have a scar at all! They also send the mole off for pathology just to make sure there isn't anything nasty in it.

If it was me then 100% a plastic surgeon.
I guess it depends on if you mind having a scar or not. I had one done under my eye a few years ago - and there is no scar whatsoever.
Will def cost more though. They also send off for pathology testing, same as a dermatologist which also costs extra.
