whats going on???
Hi all;
So I have a question.
For the last couple of days I have been really sore in the pelvic area. My tummy feels really heavy and the pressure on my pelvis is agonising! I never had this sort of pain with DD, so Im wondering is it bubba engaged and just pressing down, or is it something else? Should I be worried about it?
At the moment it is fine is I am sitting or lying down, so long as I dont move. Walking and movement in general really sucks at the moment. When I do move its like a constant sharpish pain through my pelvic area and down my legs.
Thank you in advance

Sorry Justine don't know the answer. Would assume it it just the weight of the baby pressing down but probably best to ask when you have your next visit - or make phone call if thats a while away. Babies engage a lot earlier on 2nd and subsequent pregnancies so this may be why you didn't experience this the first time.
Hope it is all okay.

hi justine,
i could be way off... but i get a sharp pain down my legs/bum when i walk and i'm pretty sure it's the bub and weight pressing on the sciatica nerve causing it. I think it's usually more common later in pregnancy but i have a bad back and have experienced this my whole pregnancy. sometimes its so sharp it takes your breath away and mine happens on the step forward.
not sure if that helps, someone else may know better.
hope you get some relief... ooohhh not long to go now love.

Pelvic pain aggravated by movement could be a sign of SPD... is there any grinding type feeling? Does it get worse if you part your legs??

it could be a sign of SPD, next time you see your midwife or OB, mention it to them, some physio could help ease it. also, invest in a heat pack, they are a godsend (i know from experience).

Sounds a bit like SPD to me too, I found that a pillow between my legs helped when I lay on my side. Also keeping legs together when hopping out of bed or the car. I'm sure your care provider will have alot more info about it though.
It is pretty awful though - hope you can get some relief soon.

Thank you all so much!
I have done some research about SPD, and it sounds like it to me too!
I saw the dr yesterday but it was our first visit with him and he didnt speak english very well, so I left the question out... But since posting on here the other day, the pain has virtually disappeared, so I cannot really complain!
Thank you all again
