I think there is something wrong with her eye.

ive only just noticed it today but my mum commented that shes noticed for about a month now. DD left eye has a lazy eye kinda look to it um, not sure wats wrong with it..:( im going to book a app to see clinic nurse nxt week just to check it out and see wat the go might be with it..im hoping its nothing major fingers crossed:pray:

has anyone else know much about wat it could be or if your baby/child has the same symptom it might sound silly it just doesnt look right but like i said i only really noticed it today..

My mum thinks that DD has a turned/lazy eye but the health nurse said not to worry until she's older because in most cases they are focusing on something & it appears as though it is turned or they will grow out of it when they are older.

I would have it checked though just to be on the safe side

my DD has a turn in her right eye and goes cross eyed when she is focussing up close. she actively pulls back if she turns from looking at something far off to something close - i told the GP this when DD was two months. she said normally they wait until much later (around 9-12 months) as baby's eyes are still developing and need time to develop on their own, but due to family history (i have needed glasses since i was 13 months, DH has genetic eye probs, my dad was born blind, DH's niece had surgery for turned eye) we will get a referral to paediatric opthamologist later this month

if you think something is wrong, and you want to follow up, don't let them fob you off. my mum knew there was something wrong with my eyes when i was only 3 months old - she was fobbed off until i was 9 months old. the attitude of the docs was that a mother wouldn't know - but my dad was born blind - it makes you wary of everything with your kids! anyway, mum and dad moved house when i was 9 months, first thing the GP said when he seen me first time was "she's long sighted" - i had glasses merely months later and still do.

mothers instinct is often right - and your mum has noticed too - follow it up hun - and if they nurse fobs you off, go further...

Its good to follow up early for a number of reasons.
DH has an eye condition on his right eye. Im not sure what it is, but he says even with glasses he cant see that well with that eye.
Anyway, it wasnt picked up until he was 4, and they tried a therapy to fix it which worked while his "good" eye was covered, but as soon as they uncovered it the vision in his right eye regressed.

The specialists told his mum that if they had been able to treat him earlier, the eyesight may have been permanently corrected by the treatment.

Im not sure exactly what they did but it involved covering one eye and looking at those black and white spiral patterns ona spinning disc, so I guess some sort of occupational therapy.

Just thought I'd add my experience with this. Two of mine have had a slight turned in eye and it did correct itself by about 8 months or so. In my case it has to do with having a very flat nasal bridge and as they grow it gets better.
