I love my Phil and Ted Dash and bought with plan to have 2 kids close together!!!
Easy to stear, basket ok size, easy to fold just big in boot.
Cant fault it at all but have not yet used with toddler seat!
We have a valco 3 wheeler, and it's brilliant. It has great suspension, handles well in rough terrain and is very sturdy. It was a bit heavy to be lugging out of the boot after my 2 c/s, but once I got better, it was a fantastic pram. :D
thanks hun, well im sick of buying prams..so i wanna get a decent one with the toddler seat option as i dunno how close the next one after this one will be.. but i do like the phil and teds
Sorry to hijack your thread mzcatieboo..I'm also looking at upgrading my pram and was wondering feeb is the P&T's really easy to fold? We went looking on the weekend and the shop assistant in the baby shop was demo'ing how to fold a P&T's to another customer so I was having a nosy and she either didn't know what she was doing or it was a real PITA. Had to pull the toddler seat off and unzip all sorts of things. It just looked so fiddly.
I'm looking at the P&T's Dash or Vibe and the Valco.
The Dash you need to take off the toddler seat and if in newborn position need to puch it up then its reallyy simple to fold after that, take very little time at all.
The vibe can fold with toddler seat on back but a friend had one and got rid of it as her DD was hitting her head on bar at top of toddler seat and not a super tall child.
Thx feeb, the height was another thing. We sat DS in the toddler seat on top and his head was touching the sun cover (and DS is on the short side). I can't remember if that was the Vibe or Dash though.
Hi there,
We bought the P&T Vibe and while its not in practice yet I still love it. My SIL has a P&T Sport and I have used it with her newborn and toddler in it and I loved it too which helped with my decision to go with the P&T. I like the idea that the toddler seat seems mroe comfortable for a toddler to sleep in. I personally am not a fan of the toddler seats with no back support as I have seen kids attempting to sleep in them all hunched over. I guess in this case it depends how much you would use it... if its only for quick trips then this style would be ok.
Good luck... its a jungle out there! :)
We have the P&T Vibe. We love it! One of the other ladies was mentioning about the fact that the toddlers head was hitting on the bar? When the extra seat is used for the toddler (our little guy is 2) you push the back of the seat forward and over that bar. Then when the baby is older and goes on the bottom you push the back of the seat under the bar and then it will recline for the baby.
What sold it to us was:
the brake on the handle - so often i have seen toddlers undo the brakes (particularly the valco) and the stroller moving - not fun.
not having to remove the extra seat when folding it down. Imagine trying to pile 2 kids into/ out of the car while having to assemble the stroller - don't think that would be much fun...
The toddler seat on the valco isn't very comfy for the poor toddler - our son can sleep in the VIBE wheras he couldn't in the valco.
With the valco, when your baby is older (6 months) they can't stretch their legs out as the toddler seat is in the way...
HTH.
I know it is very pricey but felt it was worth it... and still do!
e have a valco runabout deluxe and toddler seat and we love it if dd gets tired i just put ds3 in the carrier and dd can lay in the back and have a sleep
I'm another who looooooooooooves the P&T Vibe. I love being able to fold it all up without removing the toddler seat, and definitely love the brake, although there has been some times where I have bumped it at inconvenient times (such as leaving a lift)
As for the toddler seat being too short, I did find that an issue at the beginning before properly using it, but now DS2 seems to fit in there with no problems at all. I don't know if my DH did something different or if DS has just adjusted himself to other, either way DS loves being in the toddler seat.
I have the Maclaren mx3, which is a three wheeler that has a toddler seat attachment. I have only just had my first, so I am not sure what the toddler seat is like yet!
The pram itself is great, I am so happy with it. So easy to use!
I have a standard P&T and loved it. When then toddler is on the top it is only for such a short time before you need to put the toddler seat on the back where you then need to put the smaller child in it so there shouldn't be a problem with heads hitting bars. My ds was in the rear seat for ages before my older DS decided he was too big for a pram. I do have to say though I am a pram addict and I have just bought myself a new mountain buggy LOL only because I don't need a double anymore.
I would def reccomend the vibe though I have heard such good things about it.
thanks ladies, i ended up going with the P&T Vibe :) dont have any issues buying it now as i needed something that will fit my nearly 3 yr old DS in for when we go walking.
Mz Catie glad to hear you've chosen the Vibe. We too have the vibe and absolutely love it. We plan on having 2 kiddies 2 yr apart what sold us was:
* easy to fold
* quite light
* I love the fact that when using the toddler seat the centre of gravity is always in the middle - soo much easier to steer than the likes of the valco with the toddler seat on the front - all the weight at the front (IMHO).
* you can adjust the height of the sun shade and angle also
* still narrow, I went through Kmart, Target and our local supermarket normal checkout isles with no problems
* The back rest wobbles (for want of a better word!) over the bumps so is a lot smoother than clucky stiff adjusting backrests (that is not a very good description but I hope YKWIM)
I've got quite a few of the accessories too and use and love them all.
Good luck and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
