Does anyone use or has used Budget Direct insurance?

We have our car rego due next month and our current comprehensive policy is $689 this year - not to mention the green slip and the rego cost. So I was looking at budget direct and I can get a policy for $467 with an $800 excess (or $534 with the standard $600 excess) and DH and I are usually cagey buggers when it comes to insurance and wonder why they can do it so cheap when others can't etc and if it's all a con and they wont pay. So I was wanting to know if anyone here has experience with them both good or bad and if they would/wouldn't recommend them. Thanks!

yeah sweet i did have them just switched only due to i found a better price with nrma,
i had fully comp with them. Dont know if ya memba but about 5-6 months a go a bloke hit the side of my car while i was driving, i got all his details and he did say he did it.

The insurance company was GREAT my first ever claim they handled it really well. My door was repaired and side of car repainted and mirror replaced. They also replaced the booster seat and convertible carseat as well. I had not paid extra for a hire car so did not receive one. I took car in got quote for repair and booked it in. It was all local and walking distance to my home took about 4 days. Car was repaired and they even fixed my central locking hehehe that wasn't broken by the accident. I bought new carseats and sent in bill and they sent me a cheque rembursment:)

Thanks for that hun. I did add the car seat to it as well and we went for the gold option as that includes car rental which we would need if we were without a car for any length of time as we are 42km from town.
