Budget Holiday Tips.
I would love to go on a holiday! It has been ages since DH and I have and I would love to take Bella somewhere for a family holiday!
The problem being that we have zero savings and it takes all the extra that we have just to stay afloat now that I am only working 12 hrs a week.
So how do you afford to go on a holiday when things are really really tight??
It doesnt have to fancy - I just need to get away from here and work and stuff and just be with my little familiy for a short break!
I would love to go to QLD, Sydney or Tassie.. but really not fussy!!
Thanks in advance!

We got a holiday house on Bribie Island for a week for $290 for our honeymoon. $300 deposit. With beaches close by that was enough.
Heaps of holiday houses here ;) Usually no deposit here!

Camping in a caravan park! Borrow gear from family or friends and DONT go in school holidays - it can be really cheap ie $20-$30 per night and they are often in great locations and have good cooking facilites etc. You would just need a tent, eskys, camping chairs and table and something to sleep in/on eg swag or airbed or camp stretchers etc. You'd be surprised how many people you know have these sitting unused in thier shed/garage (I know we do:redface:) and would be happy to lend them.
You can eat lots of bbqs/cook your own food so no more exxy than eating at home.

Thanks CF - MMM I like the sounds of camping on the beach (or near the beach!) Thanks!!

Caravan parks are FANTASTIC! They often have swimming pools and games rooms for the littlies. They have space to wander around (unlike being stuck in a holiday unit) and you get to know the other people there.

Yeah, definetely go off season (during school term)
Oh...& our caravan park is right on the beach ;) lol! Next to the park!

Another caravan park fan here. We usually stay in cabins, they're pretty cheap and have all the mod cons.
My advice for a budget holiday is to stay in your own state and go during off peak seasons.

Ohh cabins! Yes! My mum and dad and I caravaned around OZ when I was in primary school and after that 3 months I swore I would never stay IN a caravan again! LOL!
I am writing these all down! Thanks Ladies!
