Possible amniotic leak? Much TMI

I'll give a TMI warning before you read this.. I feel so embarrassed writing most of this. But I'm really worried about it.

A few weeks ago, just after I'd gone to the toilet, I ended up crouching back over it and throwing up. However (at first I thought I'd wet myself from throwing up) but since I've doubted it. It was clear liquid and more than I'd expect considering I'd been to the bathroom just prior.
Since then I've had increased wetness in my underwear, if I don't wear a panty liner my underwear end up really, damp - never dripping though. But its inconsistent? Sometimes it wont be, other times there will be periods of it. It seems like a water consistency. A few posts on here have mentioned it smells different - well sometimes it smells like normal, other times it smells a bit different? More sweeter?
Sometimes I also get a bunch of really thick, white, mucus-y discharge, which I don't remember getting with Munchkins pregnancy.
I don't feel a trickle constantly, but mostly do if I end up crouching and it does happen every now and then.

I'm at a loss at whether I just have excess discharge or its actually is a leak. I've been watching for a week or two now, but it seems inconsistent. I'd imagine a leak would have to be constant?

Any advice/help would be great.

If you're worried about it best to see your Ob. Good to have peace of mind and I'm sure they wouldn't think you're being silly.

if ur worried hun, go down to the hospital and they can test if it is amniotic fluid.
my water broke big time and the one thing i remember very clearly is the smell, and as u said it was almost a sweet smell. mine had a pink tinge to it too.

I would go and get it checkout just incase, it may be a small leak, the membranes can actually repair them selves and reseal, but JIC I would get checked out.

It may even be just excess mucus that is a little watery, but I think it would be safer to see your OB and get checked rather then leaving it and not knowing. I would prefer to go and be sent home and told it is nothing then sitting at home wondering..... peace of mind :)

I'd call your hospital and see about getting it checked out. I had a hind water leak similar to what you're describing. Like you I wasn't sure if I just had a lot of discharge or if it was my waters. My leak was also inconsistent, it seemed to leak when I was laying down or getting up from laying down. I also ummed and arred about getting it checked out and put it off a couple of days, but I am glad I did because there is a risk of you developing an infection so it is best to know for sure. When you go to the hospital they do a swab test on your pad to see if it is amniotic fluid or not, it's painless and pretty easy. when are you due?

Thanks guys - I ended up ringing the hospital and having a chat with them.
They got me to go up there and did a bunch of tests. Definitely not amniotic but it looks like there could be some kind of infection? Wont know till test results come back.

Hope everything goes well for you k, even if you do end up having an infection it is all manageable, much better to be on top of it than have it go undetected. GL :hug:
