DH and I are thinking about going camping with our 14 month old DD, has anyone got any great tips that they could pass on!?
Niether of us are camping pros but have the basic stuff, tent, stove etc. What else do you recommend taking? We live on the sunshine coast so it shouldnt be too cold at night by the time we go.

Our DS2 has been camping (well, in our caravan ;)) since he was 12 months old. I find as long as you bring along all their usual gear for sleeping (dummy, blankie, favourite toy, etc.) it's all pretty easy. Our friends have come along with their toddler and a tent and just brought along their DS's portacot and his normal overnight sleeping bag and he coped just fine.
Just keep in mind what food your bub currently eats and how you will prepare it while away. Also bring lots of spare changes of clothing, they get so dirty.
We also bath our DS2 in a big plastic storage tub, he loves it! Even DS1 who is nearly 5 sometimes crams himself into it when DS2 is done :lol:.
We camped on the sunny coast with DD when she was 13mths old - and it rained the ENTIRE time!! But because it wasn't cold she could just play outside the tent in the puddles! She loved it.
We found that food sachets like Rafferty's were super helpful. We took the highchair and that was good to have. I can't really think of anything else!

We used the Raffety's ones too! And yep, we always bring a highchair, forgot to mention that one too ;)
We haven't been camping since DD was 4months old, but are going at the end of October. Rather than take the portacot, which DD doesn't tend to sleep in, we're just going to get a sleeping mat (one of those foam ones) and take her usual sleeping bag and nighttime stuff. We'll probably try and fit in one of the prams (hopefully the big one), and she can also sleep in that if needed. I figure if we have the pram, then we won't need a highchair. I'll put in plenty of toys and familiar stuff too to keep her occupied but I'm figuring that we'll have to be pretty vigilant in watching her so she doesn't wander to far.
As for food, she eats what we eat so that won't be an issue, it will just be taking her milk for the 2/3 nights we're away.
As I said, we haven't done this yet with a toddler, so it will be a big experience! I'm hoping it works, coz with building a house next year, I think camping will be our main holidays for the next few years!
