Can i just say man those needles hurt like buggery..
The CDC is now warning (right on their website) about the dangers of this shot, they say that there have been over 12,000 girls seriously hurt by this shot and 56 deaths directly linked to the HPV vaccine alone.

I'm so glad I didn't allow my DD1 to have this vaccine.

Very scary stuff. I'm thankful I haven't had it. Main reason is because it's not free for me but, I have to admit, I did find some of the stories concerning and that put me off paying. Very glad now.
Was only talking with DD1 (13) yesterday about this vaccine and she was really upset she's the only girl in her year not to have had the jab (she's in year 8 and they got them last year in school). Seeing this now makes me even more secure in my decision not to let her be vaccinnated.
I got all 3 and OMG they were so painful. The got worse as they went on.

Zero deaths have been attributed to Guardasil in Australia or the USA, though there have been deaths reported there has been no pattern or connection found.
253,500 deaths per year attributed to cervical cancer and it is claimed that the vaccine will protect in 70% of cases.
Omg...it's a ridiculous vaccine! Why not educate young girls more about safe sex practices, so they're not having unsafe sex and therefore getting infected with the HPV virus...which MAY or MAY not lead to abnormal cell readings on papsmears, which MAY or MAY NOT lead to an increased risk of cervical cancer :rolleyes: I wish I knew how stupid it was and the risks it carried when I was younger and they were pushing it for free at school. I had the two out of three. I refused the last one, but I copped a lot of flak for it.

47 girls died- that really is awful but how many girls did it save from cervical cancer?
As the post above says- 253,500 deaths per year from cervical cancer....the vaccine can protect over two thirds of this...over 160,000 people!
Everything in life comes with risks.
Oh and promote more regular papsmears among women so early detection is more of a regular occurance.

Too true! But I'd rather try that first before jabbing my daughter with this vaccine. It's hard...you don't care that much when you're younger you know, like it can't happen to you. But I do find the notion that this vaccine is promoted as a definite preventative measure against cancer as a tad misleading, there's a lot more to cervical cancer than getting a vaccine IMO.:
This vaccine only protects from two strains of hpv doesn't it? There are so many strains going around. ( someone can fill me in on those figures)
Personally, I don't like that they promote it as a cervical cancer vaccine because it's not at all a cervical cancer vaccine.

It's important to understand the death reporting process. The deaths, horrible as they are, were up to 6 months later and often unrelated to the vaccine, things like car accidents. The deaths have been thoroughly investigated in many countries including Australia and NZ and none of the deaths have been shown to be caused by the vaccine. There have been pretty big serious investigations including the very public coroners case in NZ.
BTW I like the idea of guaranteeing that my DD will never have unprotected sex PumpkinZulu, I'm sure a lot of parents would be very interested in your method! I hope very much that we can succeed too!!
No never said guarantee. But to educate her. Sure, have unprotected sex. Weigh up the risks herself. I can't stop her, I know that, so please don't insinuate that that was my intended message. But hey, it's a well known fact that kids are not given good sexual education (generally), from parents and especially schools. But I AM confident that I'll be able to impart to my daughter a good, sound sexual education, where she will be aware of the risks, far greater than a teens number one concern, being pregnancy. And again, she can choose whether or not she has the jab, maybe it will be better improved by then...when she is 18 and old enough to make that choice.
