Dump ??? Allergic to condoms or lube anyone! Solutions please.

This is probably a stupid question. Since using condoms and lube (had 2 trasnvaginal scans which also use a condom and lube haven't DTD for ages) within 30mins I start to feel like I have thrush and it doesn't get better without thrush treatment and itchy and tender. So sorry about :tmi:
I was thinking it was the condoms (so stopped DTD for now can't not use them to do it so no other choice) then it got better and I just had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday and now the same symptoms are back within 30mins of the scan. Am I intolerant to condoms or lube?
Its being years and years since I used them (like 8years or something) since being with DH and I didn't have probems then. Can you get some made of something else?

Its most likely the latex. Do you ever react to rubber gloves?

Explain to the person that you may have a latex allergy and they can then use latex free condoms. Its not unusual - about 1 in every 300 people (I think) has some reaction to latex. So medical places have a store of latex free condoms and surgical gloves and things like that.

It would be unusual to be allergic to the lube - they are made of pretty inert products.

ETA - you can also buy latex free condoms (for personal use :) ) at chemists

Yes - latex allergy is a possibility, although rare.

Unfortunately most of the mainstream pharmacy brands of lubricant do contain chemicals which should not go near your vagina or cervix. There is a brand called Sylk which is supposed to be natural and made from kiwi - avail from most phamacies.
Otherwise you may be better off just using a gentle essential oil such as jojoba.
(Ask at your nearest health food store - they may have natural options).

Taking a probiotic supplement (avail from the fridge of health food stores) will keep the thrush away, as will eating an alkaline diet.

it sux, latex free condoms are so much more exxy

I do have issues with lube, I find some sting. So could well be a combo of lube and the latex.
