DD has been doing it all morning, and as soon as I look at her she smiles and giggles. So cheeky!
DS used to do fake sneezes as he liked it when I said "bless you"... He just wanted a bit of a giggle...
It might just be a way of catching your attention for a little talk and giggle...???
DD was doing exactly that a couple of weeks ago at that age.
I think she just learned how to cough intentionally and was enjoying it. It was pretty funny to watch her coughing and grinning and coughing some more.
Not to worry you but other reasons for children coughing in a fake kind of way include asthma and nervousness.... but it doesn't sound like it could be the case here though.
im not really worried but it does sound very fake when he does it and its when im not looking it think hes just trying to get my attention
Bella does it all the time! We say "thats a terrible cough" and she will do it again and it cracks her up! So cute!
Yeah DD does it all the time. Started when I started giving her solids and if she coughed or gagged I would immediately look and sometimes pick her up and whack her on the back so now she just does it if I'm not looking at her. They learn fast.:D
Its very normal at that age...
Its actually one of the things that out CMHN asks us if they are doing... dont know if it is a full on developmental marker, but certianly something that they check to see if they are doing.
MJ use to do it loads... it was worring for a while, but she soon moved onto something new!
