Will anyone be getting this?
I asked my Ob about it the other day and he said that it's not a live vaccine so giving it to pregnant ladies is fine. I'm just wary of vaccinations when pregnant, live or not.
What does everyone else think?
Thanks

That confuses me too. I have read elsewhere that it is NOT ok to give during preg, now all of a sudden it is.
It also hasn't been tested very well and imho rushed though...
Exactly my thinking.
The thing is, the next strain of swine flu is going to be much worse. I am really torn about what to do. Getting a bad flu when pregnant is not good.
Ugh.
I'm considering getting it... I was quite worried last time it hit.
CDC To Urge Swine Flu Vaccine For Pregnant Women : NPR
Just googled it and found this link. It's American but interesting.
Arrrgggghhh, still not sure though!

This Swine Flu vaccine is like the normal flu vaccine - getting this vax will not stop you getting hte next strain of swine flu.
Just like this years flu vaccine will not stop you getting next years' strain either....
Personally I would not get any vaccine whilst pregnant, live or not.
Limeslice, totally agree. Just found another article that says they don't have enough evidence to show whether or not it will cause deformities in unborn babies.
I think that I've just decided not to!
 mmm ive been thinking of it every time it comes on the tv and im very frightend of the swine flu when i first got pg it was rageing but i just tried my best to stay indoors as much as i could but now theres the injection and in my own opinion im just to scared to get that now as i really dont know whats in it what it can really do to me or bub so im gonna say no way to any injections for me while being pg its taken me so long to get pg i cant take any chances.
thanks for this thread to cause i really didnt know if in my own head i was being silly by not having this injection (you know like some hippy or something who hated injections lol but im not im just not to sure thats all  oh and i love hippys to lol ).;)
Just had to find it again:
Taking A Pregnant Pause On Swine Flu Vaccine - NPR Health Blog : NPR
There doesn't seem to be anywhere online that gives definitive answers as to whether there is any effect on unborn babies. Which is why I am unsure about getting the vaccine.
Although, they do seem to think that it's worse for pregnant women if we do get the swine flu..... but that is the case for ANY flu.

Ooohhhh but here is another really good AUSSIE article from the Age newspaper with a myth busting theme.
Swine flu vaccine myths 'busted' by experts
It suggests that Swine Flu won't hit our shores till Feb next year. Will we be ok till then?

Sue - there are no difinitive answers on its affects on babies, as there is no testing for it - the vaccine has not been trialled and tested long enough to know such things - so there is NO difinitve answer anywhere for that question.
Yeah, i know, that is my concern.
Ugh.
i wont be getting it yes there is a risk either way but at least i know the risk this way !!!
ds had swine flu the dr said he belived so but due to non testing then they said they have to go on the symptoms. He is fine now i isolated myself from him at another member of the familys house.
I wont b getting it.
I work at a big hospital so they will be rolling out the vaccinations really soon and we will all be pushed to get them
I have a good friend in the Infection control department and so i will speak to her... and then feedback in here of course.
I dont think that the vaccine is old enough for there to be enough evidence to say that it will not be detrimental to pg women...
I wont be getting it no way no how. Not enough testing and no way to know long term effects for me or the girls.
