DayLight saving sleep transitions/routine
This might seem so obvious to everyone else, but Im a bit put out by the new daylight saving times as it interferres with my perfectly happy 'winter' routine I had going.
Pre-Daylight saving, my son currently 13 months old, would wake up at 6ish am, a 1&1/2 hour sleep would commence at approx 9:30-10:00 depending on how hectic the morning was. Lunch at approx 11:45 (give or take) then a 1/2 hour sleep at approx 2:30 or 3pm for 1/2 hour (just enough energy to get some dinner into him without any fuss) and off to bed at approx 6pm (and well and truly asleep by 6:30). This was perfect, especially the 6:30 'knock off".
I was really hoping to keep to this timetable until DS was ready to lose that afternoon nap, which everyone assures me will be 'soon', as I was able to use my time effectively in the afternoon to run errands and appointments etc.
Is anyone else having trouble adjusting to the new times with a similar timetable (especially the sleep one) and what were you planning to do with your routine?
Im almost tempted to drop the afternoon sleep and put him to bed at the 'new 6 pm' timeslot' as it means less work getting DS to sleep in the evening, but I just think its mean to see him so tired for that last hour or so, and getting dinner into him is just that little bit harder.
Ive trialled it once already (the dropping of the afternoon sleep as we were out all afternoon recently) and DS still will sleep all through the night for 12 hours, so I know it works, but still unsure.
Any advice appreciated.
