My DD has very dry skin and I was looking for some reccomendations on what cream you use on your little ones. I have always just used J&J stuff which has been fine at times and is great on her twin brother who has very soft skin. But at times DD gets very dry skin. I have just swapped their bath wash to a no soap one because I thought that might help but she is still very dry.
What is good??

Hey Kate, I just ordered some stuff from the MooGoo website, it's supposed to be great from what I've heard? Getting it primarily for DS2 who has some issues with his skin atm but also hoping it will help DS1s dry skin. We are the same, the J&J stuff was fine for our DD but DS1 has always had dry/sensitive skin so we use pretty much nothing on his skin, sorbolene if he needs it.
I ordered the milk wash and the MSM soothing cream.
Google MooGoo and have a look at their website.
I only ever use Sorbolene cream
The moogoo is great hun! Or just pure cold compressed seasame oil is great too. But deifntiely moogoo no yucky chemicals etc :) xx
Thanks girls. I have the Moogoo MSM cream that I have always used on the kids bottoms but never thought of using it on her skin :doh: Although it is just dry not like excema or anything and I guess that is why I have never thought of using the MSM cream.
I have noticed other moogoo creams like the full cream one. Has anyone used that on their toddler before? And if so was it good for dry skin?
check J&J ingredients and that of sorbolene cream too, full of petro-chemicals, no good for your skin AT ALL.....
best to seek out some natural alternatives, moo goo is good, and i am lucky to live near a little not for profit store that make all their products with no nasties, and cheap as chips!!
if the skin is super dry, you could use olive oil once in a while?
just wanted to add this about sorbolene, as millions of people lather this onto themselves unwittingly...
Sorbolene Cream is a petro-chemical or mineral oil product and may contain many additives such as Triethanolamine which may cause irritation, redness, and pain, especially on prolonged or repeated contact. It is often used in cosmetics to adjust pH and may cause an allergic reaction. Triethanolamine (TEA) is widely used in the manufacturing of household detergents and polishes, textiles, agricultural herbicides, mineral and vegetable oils, paraffin and waxes, pharmaceutical ointments, petroleum demulsifiers, synthetic resins, plasticizers, adhesives, and sealants and in many other industrial applications.
heaps more info about each ingredient which is horrifying on "looking for alternatives" website... make sure you read the bottle on anything you ingest or put onto your skin, if you can't pronounce the ingredients you can bet the stuff is no good.
I use aqueous cream on DD and add 10% olive oil to the tub, it soaks in well and is lovely for her dry skin. I also use QV oil wash for her bath, it's a great combo and no more dry skin. :)
Hamilton lotion. Very easily absorbed and great for my eczema babies. When I put body lotion on myself before I got to bed it has to be easily absorbed because otherwise it makes me feel hot and clammy and it's as if the sheets stick to me...so I made an effort to find a lotion that was the same for my babies...and Hamilton was it.
