arghh who would have thought getting the washing in was so dangerous.

ok so was getting the washing in just now, and as I took one item of clothing off, the other shirt behind it was like 10cm away from my face and a huge and I mean huge spider was on it- I just screamed( i totally can't stand spiders). this spider was as big as my hand!!!! arghhhh the neighbours would have thought someone was being murdered! I totally didn't know how to deal with it, so after screaming and not taking my eye of it so I new where it was I thought how on earth am i going to get it off! so I thought what can I use so I don't have to get close. Oh yeah the vacuum cleaner! so sucked it up good! only thing is I dont' wanna turn the vacuum cleaner off I can see it in their alive! what happens if it crawls out!! arghhh. am I safe to turn the vacuum cleaner off??

What dangers have you come across doing housework etc?

Ewww i hate spiders too... GROSS!
Do you have a cyclonic vac? If so maybe turn it off, take the bit off that holds all the yuck stuff and run it outside straight to the bin?
I wouldn't spray anything in there as you don't know what affect it will have on your vac... but you can't leave it running ALL day... lol

Hope the gross little bugger gets dizzy and passes out in enough time for it not to move while you relocate it!

I think if you vac the rest of the house it will smother it. Was paranoid a white tail I sucked up would crawl out but it died from the dust choking it

avasmum: it's a shame I can't leave it running all day, might leave it there till DH gets home and he can dispose of it! it's crawling around in there!

Yep, I'd keep vacuuming and it should just suffocate. Same thing happened to me once but lucky for me DH was home and came to the rescure. I HATE them too.
